CT scan prices?

I had a full abdomen CT scan with contrasting agent at Chula yesterday. It was a bit over B13K.

It seemed to be a world class operation with very nice facilities, professional staff and state-of-the-art equipment. It seemed like money well spent to me. As a comparison, my son's birthday dinner at "Chocolate Factory" was about B3K for the four of us. The CT scan working to save me, while Chocolate Factory is working to kill me.

I think I pay more for weekend booking, but I am not sure how much.

Nice price, compared to my local (PKK) govt hospital. Full abdominal, no contrast, 15k or 17k rings a bell for price, March 2024.

Although no waiting around, about 1 hr at night clinic, asked to have done, sent downstairs and done immediately. Well worth a few 1k baht, not waiting, not previous visit to schedule, and no Q for the day, or line to have done.

Best, done locally, no trip to Chula or hotel while there. Had endo/colon scope done at Chula.

I doubt if 10k will be the total cost cos there are nearly always add ons . I recently had an MRI scan at my local government hospital and paid the normal going rate of 8000 baht if the scan has been

Does this full abdominal scan include the liquid stuff they put in your a$$ to check the colon?

The scan includes the contrasting agent, yes, but introduced it using an IV via a heparin lock in the back of my hand, not in my a**. Given what you paid, you may have gotten the deluxe "Rainbow" package.

I used MedPark for a covid vaccine years ago and was not impressed. I think bummer is a much better operation for I think about the same dough.

I have been using Chula for about 15-20 years for my liver since my doctor moved there from Bangkok Hospital. It has really improved over the years. The only real bummer is the parking, which can be a nightmare.
