Solar system Installer in the Buriram Surin area.

Featured Replies

I am planning to install a solar system with a 20-30 KW, On Grid/hybrid inverted and about 50 ground based 600-700 panels. Would anyone have carried out a similar project with a local installer?

Also, I want to keep control on what gear gets installed (Possible Deye, Jinko and BYD), and I am (will be) a bit anal when it comes to thinks like proper (neat) alignment of panels, cabling, etc.c

Distance to the house will me 50meters.

Hi Peter. Not sure exactly where you are but if you're near Kuchinarai you can have a look at my setup.

3 phase 20kW, 28 X 580W panels, 18kW battery (soon to be two), 30m of ungrounded cable but no ground mount.

You're going to need a bigger house if you want to fit the solar system into it .

Pluto alone is huge

Sorry Peter, just saw you are in Buriram.

You've misse the "ground mount bit".

But have you anything pertinent to add?

A lot to know and think about. My advice is to get a Consultation first. Tell them Not to send a Salesman but an actual knowledgeable installer or expert.

There is lots to know, reasons why you may want to choice some equipment over others (Reliability, Warranty, Parts Availability, Performance and Value)

It is good to be cautious. Some are changing MC4 connectors on new setups.

Additionally ask for an itemized estimate list even of you have to pay for it. If you want one model example Deye hybrid inverter make sure it is listed.

I think you know to make sure the cabling is the correct size for the run from panel location and house.

Lastly make sure it is safe. Grounded, Automatic Aerosol fire extinguisher in any electric boxes, and proper circuit breakers, etc.

Lastly this is a Solar Investment not Purchase. Depending on your usage and electric cost it may not pay for itself for 10 years or more.

There is a guy making youtube videos about his life and other things. He lives in Buriram and has installed solar.

Perhaps it can be something for you!

I'm interested in a solar system of this scale. As solar prices appear to get cheaper every year (or is that just the panels?), what is the typical budget for such a system?

I also have three-phase power, and a 225sqm flat roof with a 15 degree slope to the south where the panels could be mounted.

Take a look at this company, they just finished a 100kwh system in Pattaya.

Never ever is my experience. But I'm still optimistic 🤣

Following your post as I am in a similar situation but different . There are some gurus up here in Burriram and Asean Now and surprised they have not kicked in for an answer to your post.

My Burriram picks for Solar... https://www.ruangsangthai.com/%E0%B8%AB%E0%B8%99%E0%B9%89%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%AB%E0%B8%A5%E0%B8%B1%E0%B8%81.html

comes in on my list....maybe 2nd choice.......!

Number 1 is going through PEA direct for installation... No messing around... Yes cost more maybe...but.. You know job will be done with no red tape...or "cannot do"..... learnt from my experience the way Thai things happen.

I have a 10Kw Huawei on grid system 7 something years old and the roof needs replacing with 20 solar panels bolted down.. Solar panels fine but roof is faaarked.

Chock Dee...

Have been in touch with them, as you've said they are expensive, and they presented "On grid" as the only option. I want backup power, as we have all sorts of supply issues which are only going to worsen when people start buying EVs in large numbers. The 2,2 Baht/KW is [yet another] government rip off .

Also the detailed offer I required ended up in one number. And right now I really despise the new communist pricing structure, where I'll have to pay for the subsidised energy of the the bludgers.

But thanks for your input.

20Kbht will buy you 10-12 units/day (5x 600w panels, 1x 6k2 inverter)

No need for a battery, or tricky wiring, just wind your meter back.

Add another 50kbht if you want a battery.

Add another 100kbht if you want someone to install.

Although I did see one particulary greedy quote where the installer wanted 350kbht for installing 100kbht of equipment. 250kbht for two days work is a nice markup.

One of the reasons I favour ground mount. Too many constraints up there for a two storeys house. How often did you clean your panels?

Did you ever get your export meter sorted??

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

No. PEA just said "cant do" must have 3 phase running past house. Huawei inverters can be throttled down to export 5kw which meets the PEA requirements but "cant do" means cant do!!

Clean only once a year around January. Single story. During the wet season no need. Plenty of young labor available for the price of a Leo.
