There should be a limit on political subjects !

Every thread is anti Trump , USA politics etc

I have no idea who half these political threads are about

It seems the Left wing of politics ( in which I am a voter and supporter ) have hijacked threads about U.S politics .

I may be a pro leftist but I don't want it in my backyard thanks !.

I remember years ago going to a Greens Socialist pro- immigration rally in beautiful Tasmania in Australia

I got up to shout the benefits of multicultural environment and diversity, the crowd of leftists cheered at me

When I said let's bring thousands of poor Africans to Tasmania suddenly I was booed by these "leftists " ,

"Not in our backyard!!!! They shouted as they threw marijuana joints at me

Not it in our backyard!!

Anyway getting back to my original post before I was rudely interrupted, there is too many political threads on this forum

I would like everyone to agree with me please!!!

Georgenta, darl, I am struggling to understand why you need everyone to agree with you on this one. The politics section is literally over there. The non politics sections are over here. Most of us

Georgenta, darl, I am struggling to understand why you need everyone to agree with you on this one.

The politics section is literally over there.

The non politics sections are over here.

Most of us manage to avoid political threads by using the highly advanced technique of not visiting the Political Soapbox forum.

Yet somehow you keep wandering into them, reading them, becoming annoyed by them, and then starting a new thread about them.

As for the rally in Tasmania, I am sorry to hear about your ordeal, girlfriend.

Having marijuana joints hurled at you by an angry socialist mob must have been terrifying.

Most people spend good money trying to get free joints thrown at them, but you somehow found a way to make it a traumatic experience. I assume you started crying as always?

Frankly you were lucky, sister.

If it had been a more radical crowd they might have escalated to throwing dildos, reusable shopping bags, and fair trade organic vegetables.

You could have been seriously inconvenienced.

Anyway, getting back to your original point before I was rudely interrupted by your story about being attacked with cannabis flower in Tasmania, if you do not want to read politics, why not simply stay out of the politics section?

That seems easier than asking the other 99% of the forum to sign a declaration agreeing with you.

I would like everyone to agree with me please!!!

Judges appointed by Trump keep ruling against him. He’s not happy about it.

From the National Guard to deportations, Trump has suffered numerous legal setbacks from people he put on the bench.

06/OCT/2025 06:17 PM EDT

When a Donald Trump-appointed judge delivered a stinging rejection of his effort to put National Guard troops on the ground in Portland, the president had some regrets.

“I wasn’t served well by the people that pick judges,” Trump vented Saturday.

Still, in some cases in which Trump-appointed judges have heard Trump-related cases, they have gone further than simply ruling against his policies. They have delivered sweeping warnings about the expansion of executive power, the erosion of checks and balances and have criticized his attacks on judges writ large.

NB So maybe these Republican and even Trump appointed judges should serve 'hater' penance as well.

I really enjoy when you share your fantasies and dreams, like making a speech at a Green rally.

I guess when your reality is a disappointment relating your fantasies as if they were experiences is some consolation.

While you can go to specific topics to avoid the many, many Trump threads, if you just want to see what's new, and view the site using "View New Content", you get bombarded by US politics.

I get more than enough US political news on the mainstream news channels, (all of it biased to the left or right depending on the outlet) so never open Trump threads on AN.

Can we have 'View New Content without Trump threads' or a way to block all threads that mention the T word?

I'm a bit puzzled by the complaint.

You're posting about there being too much politics in forums that were specifically created for political discussion and world news. What exactly were you expecting to find there?

The Political Soapbox exists for political debate. The World News forum reflects the major stories being covered by the international media. At present, that inevitably means a lot of U.S. politics and a lot of Trump-related threads.

If those topics don't interest you, there are plenty of other sections of the forum covering completely different subjects.

Complaining that political forums contain politics is a bit like walking into a football stadium and complaining there are too many people talking about football.

As mentioned in my post above, if you read AN because you have a general interest in all things related to Thailand, then you'll probably access the site via 'View New Content' rather than going to a specific thread.

That's when you get bombarded by polarised Trump threads.

I don't use AN to see circular political arguments about the US, so that often means a large proportion of the site is of no interest. Yes, I can just scroll passed the Trump threads, or just not use AN at all if a large proportion of the new content is not related to Thailand.

I think georgieboi's gripe is that when you click the unread content button the content is riddled with political stuff.

Does not bother me but it would be nice as a user to be given the option to block area's of the forum that I have no desire to participate in thus the result when I click the unread content button would not be so poluted.

With the exception of news topics, content is generated by members- if that's what they wish to discuss and post about, that's their choice as it is yours or other members to post alternate topics if you wish.

Many years ago, when I was using Yahoo mail, the Yahoo start page was set up that way.

It allowed you to customize the start page and block out news sections that you had no interest in.

Georgie,

Sorry to spam your thread, but you gotta see this Melania interview.

She reveals all.

It can be annoying, the Trump thing, but just don't read them. Admin would never address the issue since it's a guaranteed content/traffic generator.

You're just another person fed up with the lies being shoveled to us by the News on both sides everyday while ignoring the real problems of wealth being concentrated into fewer hands/families

And the AI Barrons becoming more like powerful Kings capable of much good or harm, should they wish.

Not to mention Depopulation of 80% of the world including Europe, America, China and Thailand.

If you have ever been to Detroit or East St Louis in America, you know depopulation isn't a good "look" 🤠
