Kedgeree

Featured Replies

Does anyone on the forum have a recipe for kedgeree, either authentic or Thai-style?

Probably needs to be in Thai language or translatable into Thai script. My wife is a very good cook and can cope with most things but her English literacy is not too good so she would have problems following a recipe in English. I suspect that it might be a problem finding smoked haddock but i'm sure that something could be substituted.

Google the many kedgeree recipes online. And a translation app will take them to your language of choice. Even better, YouTube. As they say, seeing is better than reading.

I think the beauty of kedgeree is it's easy to 'wing it' and it will still taste great.....any rice really, any smoked fish, even non smoked wouldn't be an issue, lots of butter, boiled eggs, peas or veg alternative and herbs etc with a curry style spice of one's choice...................I would always add half a lime to the serving plate no matter what recipe, ideal to cut through the richness and fat...........I love kedgeree, one of my favourites and a great way to use up scraps if prepared to go off piste...................
