What is terrorism, really?

[Opinion. I’m not a “progressive” and certainly not a milque-toast Liberal. I’m a radical and so is Palestine Action.

The Belfast riots, Palestine Action protests. What is terrorism now – and why the hypocrisy?

George Monbiot

The Guardian: 17 Jun 2026

If you are targeting people on the basis of the colour of their skin,” the Northern Ireland secretary, Hilary Benn, asked last week, “how else can you describe them? That is racist thuggery.” It is.

But there is another way of describing the actions of the rioters burning people out of their homes in Belfast, though ministers somehow cannot bring themselves to say it. Terrorism.

Instead, the term is largely reserved by ministers for those who challenge Israel’s actions in Gaza. Matching the official definition to the Palestine Action protests is a far tougher call than matching it to the Belfast riots. But while more than 3,000 people have now been arrested for holding up signs in support of the banned group, and many face terrorism charges, no one in Belfast or Southampton has been charged with terrorist offences.

If you say “I support Palestine Action”, they might put you in jail. If you incite a racist riot, they put you on TV.

Damaging military equipment in the hope of preventing its deployment, especially in illegal wars, has long been treated as an act of civil disobedience motivated by conscience, and some juries have acquitted on this basis.

The court of appeal judgment managed to cast protest as terrorism and terrorism as protest. Palestine Action “is not, as it claims, a direct action civil disobedience protest group like the suffragettes operating transparently in the open”. What??? Did the suffragettes plan their bombings, arson and assassination attempts – far more extreme than anything Palestine Action has contemplated – in open meetings in Parliament Square?

The judges stated that banning Palestine Action “will not prevent any or all demonstrations targeted at Elbit”, an arms manufacturer supplying the Israel Defense Forces, whose factories in Britain have been a primary focus for the group. Well, two days earlier, John Woodcock, the government’s former anti-extremism tsar, called for the ban to be extended to the protest group People Against Genocide, which has blocked the gates of Elbit factories. The slippage had already begun.

It could go much further. At Woolwich crown court at the end of last week, four Palestine Action protesters who broke into an Elbit factory were sentenced as terrorists. The astonishing aspect of this case? They were not charged, tried or convicted as terrorists.

Hilary Benn is a multimillionaire from a line of political blowhards.
George Monbiot is also a hypocritical ******.
Governments are supposed to enact the will of the people.
When they don't, it forces local populations to take matters into their own hands.

Westerrn governments are terrorising local white ethnic populations by importing people form low IQ, low trust, alien societies - thereby terrorising trad white communitites - particularly the aged and women. That's terrorism son and don't let someone millionaire living in a safe white area to convince u otherwise!

----

As to the question: What is Terrorism? It's often part of a bigger business strategy.

wrt immigration it's to force wages down and increase rents and asset prices to invrease the profitability of the haves.
It's also a part of a divide to conquer strategy - ethnic replacement / genocide.

Just for fun...
The business model was simple.

Fuel antisemitism to recruit a radicalized army of Zionists.

Groom militia groups that had been traumatized and radicalized by war, then rebrand them as “Islamists” to sustain the narrative.

Secure ever-growing Pentagon budgets for the US military-industrial complex.

Use lobbying, media, and biblical prophecy to radicalize Christians into supporting endless war, blurring the distinction between a prophet called Israel and a modern nation-state called Israel.

Channel trillions of dollars from U.S. taxpayers into US military-industrial complex stocks.

Turn the battlefield into a testing ground for new surveillance systems, weapons, and military technologies, creating a live laboratory for the US & Israeli technological-industrial complex.

Privatize state assets and create opportunities for the global financial-industrial complex.

And when the consequences become impossible to ignore, provide a narrative that allows Americans to believe their politicians had no choice because of Epstein.

The entire model depends on perpetual conflict.

That’s why an Iran-U.S. deal is so significant.

Peace doesn’t just threaten a geopolitical strategy.

It threatens a business model built on war profiteering.

That's why the US didn't win - it would have been bad for business.
No baddies = no taxpayer money or excuse to print money.

(as look up 'false flag attacks'. Iraqi WMDs, early covid death toll predictions - all forms of terrorising citizens to force cash out of them)

Please, poor little white people, give me a break. They import foreigners to either do the jobs the locals wont do or increasingly the jobs their youth are educationally incapable of filling.

THEY (politicians representing big money - not WE) import foreigners to push wages down and push asset prices and rents up but buy the the lies if you wish.

Governments are supposed to enact the will of the people.
When they don't, it forces local populations to take matters into their own hands.

If they only let in self-sufficient people on rolling 3 month parole style visas like u lot no one would have a problem with it.

I assme you're thick though so won't hold your brainwashing against you

Local populations my arse, read a vocal, often violent, racist minority, usually bussed in to hot spots they have no connection with.
