Andy Burnham wins Makerfield

At least he'll get starmer out

Andy Burnham has won a crunch by-election in a major blow to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

The Greater Manchester Mayor is now set to challenge the Labour leader for the top job in Government.

He said the Makerfield result could be the “turning point” to bring about “the change this country needs”, adding that Labour had a “final chance to change” and “we must act upon it”.

Mr Burnham won the vote by 9,231 votes, seeing off the challenge from Nigel Farage’s Reform UK.

A relief. Especially the size of his victory over both Reform and Restore. Hopefully a turning point.

This may force Starmer out but nothing will change "hand shandy Andy" is just the opposite cheek of the same backside. The only thing this depressing result proves, is that Farage and Lowe need to put their differences behind them for the good of the country,

It also validates the underlying and longstanding feeling in the NorthWest of England that the inhabitants of Ashton in Makerfield are inbred, retarded, pie gobblers. Its actually unfair that they were placed in such a position of responsibility!

We now face the worrying possibility that a "thunderbird puppet" lookalike, could , temporarily , become the prime minister , completing our transformation into the laughing stock of the developed world

Why oh why is the use of paragraphs not possible on here anymore?

Even the combined votes of Reform, Restore and the Tories wouldn't have been enough. Restore's abysmal total will hopefully mean the end of them and the disgraceful Rupert Lowe.

An excellent result with an increased voter turnout over the General Election.

No the turning point was reached a long time ago, and was responsible for the results in the local council elections last month (remember ?) This is merely a glitch.

Hate and misery mongering can only ever gather the malcontent vote.

But please let’s not get rid of Lowe just yet, he’s on a mission to destroy Farage.

Of course who could forget the local elections?!

And perhaps more to the point, what was that got elected:

Should we take it that you’ll not be voting by post at the next election?

Wow Starmer is even more despised than I thought.

A massive turnout. They can't get Burnham to Westminster to kick him out soon enough.

Even though they know Burnham is a far left nut job. They simply dont care as long as 2 tier gets the boot.

So long Keir. Best you call Davos.

Indeed, and whilst the miserable lefties who hate the UK and its traditions appear to have achieved a small victory here . you should make the most of it, as, going forward, there will be few more opportunities for you leftists to celebrate.

Us fascists on the extreme right are not unduly worried, this result pretty much guarantees the departure of Starmer , and who ever succeeds him be it Burnham , Streeting , Miliband or even Raynor will be dealt with by the electorate at the next general election. Just wait and see

He's not Too Queer Stalin.

Simple as that. They'd vote for Mandeslon if they thought it would remove the tyrant.

This was a vote against Starmer. Plain and simple.

They held their nose and voted for the sixth form socialist to get rid of the tyrant.

I don't see any problem just a few offended lefty snowflakes, Who clearly didn't understand that voting for a dead man was not actually possible

Not happy that the people of Makerfield have spoken Jonny?

Understandable since both your hate not hope candidates got kicked to the curb.

Are you starting to understand the level of hate for Starmer now?

This was a protest vote to get rid of the tyrant.

I’ll take your word for it that you don’t see any problem with a Reform councillor saying he rather vote for the UK’s most notorious pedophile.

And of course that’s something only snow flakes would be offended over.

Thanks for letting us know.

Not good day for you I know, but cheer up, the people of Makerfield have spoken.

I'm delighted Higgot.

Removing the tyrant Starmer will make much more difference to the uk than one more Reform MP.

It also shows Starmer in no uncertain terms how despised he is. It also weakens him since he is now a lame duck PM. Gone by September. Not much point dealing with him now.

I'd prefer the new PM wasnt a sixth form socialist but compared to Lammy rayner Cooper etc. He's probably the best of a pathetic bunch until Labour collapse at the next GE.

The next election is a long way off, and this one didn’t go your way.

Burnham got more votes than the combined hate not hope candidates.

It’s a great result.

But only a vote for Burnham would do that. Hence the massive win. Starmer is gone.

See my previous post.

Unlike you I respect the democratic process. I wont be calling for a second vote like you and your lefist ilk. Im better than that.

Let’s pretend there are no other challengers to Starmer, if that helps you cope with this splendid result.

‘Ilk’ Jonny, try harder to hide your emotions.
