Nick dodges a very simple question… again.

But , I did answer the question .

Once again , you don't ask clear question and then you claim that I got the wrong answer because I wrongly guessed who you were referring to .

If it wasn't Hezbollah that you were were referring to , who was it ?

I know you struggle Nick and I don’t want to make life hard for you, so I’ve underlined precisely who I was referring to, I made no reference to Hezbollah in my question:

Do you think Lebanese citizens who take up arms to expel the foreign Israeli invading military are patriots?

You mistake my intent Nick, I really do try to make discussion of points I raise accessible to people of all abilities.

I hate excluding folk who, after all, might have valid points to raise and you did after-all announce you were unable to fathom who I was referring, hence my resort to ‘helpful annotation’ by underlining the bit you said evaded you.

OK, who are these Lebanese citizens that you speak of ?

What are their aims and what are their intentions and how they they intend to proceed .

What is the name of their group ?

Lebanon and Israel have united in an attempt to defeat Hezbollah .

You are attempting to deflect from the reality and add some imaginary people to the equation and bring nationalism into it .

Attempts to hijack the thread .

I refused to comply and you became abusive .

Having an immature temper tantrum because I wouldn't reply to your off topic question .

You really aren't as clever as you think you are

They are any Lebanese citizen who takes up arms to expel the invading Israeli army.

The aim is self explanatory, picking up a gun and shooting an invading soldier might be a means to proceed, perhaps one rifling through the personal belongings of Lebanese civilians, or engaged in destroying Lebanese homed and property.

No need to join a group, just defending their own homeland from the invading army.

For clarity, I would regard any Israeli a patriot who took up arms against an invading foreign army crossing the Israeli border, killing Israeli civilians, destroying homes and property and declaring any part of Israel they seized off limits to Israelis.

I expect you might too.

The example of the Government of a nation under attack siding with the enemy against its own citizens has already been raised earlier in this thread.

Vichy France demonstrates that a Government siding with an invading enemy does not illigitimise seemed resistence by citizens against the invaders.

Oh and Patriotism and Nationalism are not the same thing.

Hezbollah ARE Lebanese citizens who took up arms to expel the the foreign Israeli invading military.

What was I struggling about

I’m not at all sure members of Hezbollah are all Lebanese citizens.

Certainly it would not be necessary to join Hezbollah or indeed any other organization to fight against an invading army.

History is replete with examples of patriots who took an individual stand against invading armies, even if their own Government were assisting the invaders.

Right, so you support the Lebanese Army trying to expel the non Lebanese Hezbollah from Lebanon ?

Hezbollah we’re established as a direct result of an Israeli invasion.

It might be reasonable to conclude that a repeated Israeli invasion, the slaughter of civilians, the destruction of property and the seizure of land might serve as a recruiting call for Hezbollah.

I certainly would expect your 79% number to start heading south, if it hadn’t already done so.

With Hezbollah gone, Israel and Lebanon can live in peace .

There will be no need for Israel to invade Lebanon if Hezbollah wasn't there .

You side is taking battering and will soon no longer exist , although I suppose , like the Nazis, a few groups will still exist here and there and Anti semitism will never be completely defeated

Israel have already said they will hold Lebanon’s land indefinitely.

The pretense that Israel are engaged in anything other than the Greater Israel crime is exposed by both their words and actions.

Well yes, Israel would not immediately withdraw from Lebanon because of the US /Iran deal ;

Indefinitely means

Indefinitely is an adverb meaning for an unlimited, unspecified, or unknown period of time. It typically describes a situation where an action will continue, or a decision will be postponed, without a predetermined end date or foreseeable conclusion

Indefinitely does not mean *Forever"

Indefinitely in this case means one more step towards the crime that is Greater Israel.

Based on what?

The fear that Israel is not just there to take out Hezbollah, but to invade and occupy Lebanon or parts of Lebanon?

Otherwise, Hezbollah appears to be a negative force in Lebanon and the citizens would welcome their demise.

Israel and Lebanon have signed a framework agreement in Washington ...

Correction, Aoun and Salam, President and PM, respectively, US puppets both, have signed to happily sell out the south of the country to Israel. Hezbollah is not a party to the agreement because they want to defend Lebanon from the IDF. And if reports are to be believed they are doing a good job.
