Will Thailand’s Beer-Bottles continue to Shrink?: And, why?

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

I really do not know why I never realized that Thailand’s beer bottles are, apparently, shrinking, like magic, almost.

So then, I ask myself, is a Pint of Beer still a Pint?

Are we the consumers being cheated?

Or, is this just a case of corporations showing concern for our health?

Until this morning, I had believed that all Thailand Beer Bottles were 640 ml.

But, I think they are not.

Instead, they just keep on shrinking.

Shrinking from 640 to 630, and from 630 to 620.

Is this not SNEAKY?

Would you not prefer to pay more and get the same volume?

Are you fools, or being fooled?

For sure, THEY FOOLED ME….for about nine years.

Breaking news from Gamma: bottles get smaller, rain is wet, and tomorrow he’ll expose that 7-Eleven charges for bags.

"Shrinkflation" is everywhere. When I first came to Thailand in the late 90's I was buying size M or L shirts. Now those sizes don't even cover my belly.

They can charge for bags, all they like.

But, who in their right mind would pay for bags?

Some day Thai beers will become a marketing executive's dream: all packaging and advertising and no actual product.

The output from AI depends upon the input.

AI is basically just a GIANT MIRROR...

If so, then for how much longer?

I don't like to be the bearer of bad news GG but I must regretfully inform you that a Pint of Beer is now sadly only the equivalent of two half pints.

I hope this does not cause you too much distress.

Used to buy the 25cl San Miguel bottle in Spain. Perfect size for a beer in the hot weather

Just pour your beer in a pint glass and top it off with another bottle. Problem solved.

If you’re concerned about alcohol prices then perhaps consider that it’s outside of your budget status. You could always go to the local kad and pick up some cheap nearly fermented fruit and complete the fermentation process on your own to get a cheap alcohol fix

Srinkflation.

Just one more instance of....life.....

Through the Looking-Glass...

A pint of Guinness here, which is actually 0.5L is 12% less than a British pint..so your 259 baht per pint actually becomes 290 baht

Manufactures have two ways to handle rising costs. Raise the price or shrink the package. Both have been happening everywhere for a very long time. Nothing new.

Why should this be surprising.

Have you measured your waist, lately?

Can you still fit into your old military uniform, for example?

Downsizing is a Rip-Off that large Companies use on a regular basis; no Laws to protect the Consumer from such practice.

But, has the price increased?

Is this better than Leo?

I mean better taste, etc.

Since when? I know Thai beers have gone up in price over time, as well as shrunken. The best lager in SEA, IMHO.

Will the bellies of the people who drink Thailand’s Beer continue to expand?: And, why? 🤔
