Over hanging trees

Not sure if this is the rught forum, we have a rubber tree farm next to out land/house, problem is the branches break off and drop on our roof plus we get rodents & snakes using them to get onto our roof as well. The branches extend a 3 or so metres over the roof, in Australia they would have to trim them back so they are within their owm property but neither my wife nor I have any idea if there is anything we can do, if one of the much bigger branches comes down it will cause major damage. Does anyone know what our rights are as many thai land owners tend to ignore anything that requires them to do extra work, the trees are planted only a metre or so inside the fence line because they like to use all their land, on our other block their palm trees have broken our plumeria/frangipani trees when their fronds fall because they refuse to cut them, its the same land owner, ideally he needs to remove the trees that extend over our land but I doubt that will happen but to remove all the overhanging branches would be a huge job, the overhang wasnt there when we built.
