Places like SR I guess are great for people who are on their computers all day and do nothing with their life. A total bore might as well be in prison join the "I am busy all day in my prison cell" crowd.

I was never short of stuff to do in SR.

Swimming, eating & drinking with pals, reading, cycling, whoring, smoking cannabis ....... I always had a great time!

What makes you think there’s even an expat scene there worth comparing? And why would anyone on a Thailand forum care? If you’re that interested, go there yourself and report back.

You’ve got that same creepy stalker style as Raquel. It’s becoming harder to tell you two gals apart anymore.

SR is dusty but the pavements are generally more walkable than many TH cities/towns. Not too many bogans / chavs / Benidorm Brits there yet, unlike.... well you know. SR has lots of intern'l food op

Of course you can ask questions, even intelligent or stupid.

However, you will have to accept all kind of answers, intelligent and stupid as well

Cambo is only #163 on the corruption list...

Definitely better than North Korea 👍

" How would you compare the expat scene and atmosphere there compared to major Thai cities "

I already compared the "atmosphere" which is much thicker with corruption than any major Thai city.

Second of all, there are no major cities in Cambodia, so no comparison.

Yes, I've been to SR, Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville.

Any other questions? 😄

Comparing corruption or income inequality between Cambodia and Thailand is like comparing Jeffrey Dahlmer to Ted Bundy.

Indeed, I've just got mine on getting my second year retirement visa. I'm into landscape photography so I expect to utilise it to the full.

Nice the authorities give us foreign residents something back, and a refreshing change from what I've heard for 25 years in Thailand from foreigners complaining endlessly about double pricing at tourist sites, national parks etc.

Don't watch the Netflix while eating your dinner.

The only corruption I ever encountered in Cambodia was at the boarder,

"$25 for VISA, $5 for me" ....... said the captain in charge.

About the same, lots more Israeli backpackers in SR, but they all seemed pleasant, friendly and helpful.

Only oddness I ever encountered was young western female backpackers on the coach whom seemed to be frightened of elderly white men.

Wat Bo Road one street back from the river. Probably just ordinary macaques, parent and a kid judging by size. Got a hotel opposite me and on one occassion it was interesting watching them walk along their exterior stopping at each window checking out inside. Luckily the windows were closed.

yeah, when you sit by the river, you will see some groups here and there. the locals feed them.

. but if you hang out at ta nei you might see the gibbons in the trees, they dont roam the ground. tough to get there now in the mud
