PSA is not a very good test. Too many things can affect it and I had two doctors fail to mention things that can affect it leading to me spending 7 months in Hell over the possibility of prostate cancer including lots of extra expenses for an MRI and biopsy. This was in the US, and I am still very angry about it.

I agree. But it gives an indication of whether or not follow-up testing is required. But then my subsequent testing - a biopsy, MRI, & CT Scan showed I had Prostate Cancer (PCa) and needed a bone scan. This bone scan indicated that it may have metastasized into bone cancer in my neck, spine, shoulders and pelvis.

Now that had me worried. Thankfully a rather more expensive PET Scan showed I only had PCa - the rest was simply arthritis - unfortunately sometimes the painful kind. So I got treated for the PCa. But that's life.

I firmly suggest a govt hosp for annual health checks. They're often called Preventive Medicine Clinics. Anything that prevent taking medicine is good! They'll do all your standard bloodwork, vaccine

  • Any hospital. It's not rocket science

  • Not always slow. There are aggressive variants. Extremely painful when it metastasizes to bone.

Ahh, we gotta die of something. Prostate CA is slow and painless.

Very true and every male will get prostate cancer if they live long enough.

Sorry to hear that. As an American, living in Thailand for more than 18 years, I find myself being more comfortable with Thai medical services than the American that I used before. I do have insurance which allows be to use private hospitals.
