Geriatrically Speaking: How do you know when a girl “comes on” to you?

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

Even though I am very old, yet still…

Sometimes, and not infrequently, I notice, or “feel”,  that younger women are “coming on” to me.

But, how can I be sure?

Are there any “sure” ways to tell?

I am the bashful type.

And, most Thai girls are bashful, too.

Sometimes, and very often, their overtures are just too subtle for words.

And so, I would not want to mistake “come on” signals for other signals, such as….

Some girl’s vague curiosity about why my fly has been left undone, and not fully zippered up.

I realize that most of the guys on TV are older than I, and so I am asking for advice.

More specifically, my question is how do old men know when young women are giving them “the eye”...???....

I mean, that…Come Hither Look….

During my younger years, just because I was worried about getting my signals crossed, I lost many good opportunities, and slept alone, as a result.

But now that I am very old, I worry that I might repeat the mistakes of my youth, and never sleep with anyone, ever again.

What I mean is that:  Sometimes, you just get the feeling that girls are looking at you, in the right way. And, you suspect that they might want to go to bed with you, too.

Crucially, in my case, I’m just asking:  How do you tell?  How can you be sure?

How can you be very sure BEFORE you open your mouth, or rest your hand on hers, and then quickly learn that you had made a total fool of yourself…just because…

You got your signals crossed.

And she is rolling on the floor with a mixture of laughter and disgust.

Any words of advice, or…

What is your technique?

How do you know, for sure?

Thank you.

Gamma

NOTE: My apologies, because I have no images, vids, nor music to accompany this Topic. This Topic puts me in a sort of somber mood, in fact.

NOTE2: Yet, this Topic reminds me, just a little bit, of the great film.....BABY DOLL.....

Baby Dolls....

Who would not want one....or two.....?

I have NOTHING against women who suck their thumbs.....

Do you?

By the time you finish explaining the question, she’s married someone else.

The biggest problem is thinking you made a fool of yourself when getting brushed off by a bashful female.

I say, hit on 10 or 20 girlies in a club for instance and it's bound to work out with one or two. Same in a non hooker bar.. People are far to self conscious and worried on the image they will project to others. That is your worst ennemy.

Go by the numbers pal, Hit and chat up shamelessly one girl at a time no matter how dull your conversation may be or not be.

If she brushes you away or makes you feel she is not interested or you don't feel confortable, politely turn your back and shamelessly hit on another one and so on. It will work out fine. How do you know she is not interested ? Simple, she just won't laugh or giggle at our stupid jokes.

This is a universal technique as girls remain girls all over the world.

The biggest concern however in Thailand that even in "normal" bars if any, you have strong chances to fall on a freelancer.

We need to ensure that there are no avoidable Question-Mark emoji attached to this Topic.

And so, for clarification of the MEANING of this Topic, and, FOR SURE, there IS a meaning here, to this Topic....

Please refer to the following analysis, so that there is no ambiguity:

Analysis of Topic Discourse: Aging, Isolation, and Social Risk

1. Core Mechanism: The Demand for Zero Risk

The primary driver of the text is the author's search for a guaranteed method to measure romantic interest. The author aims to eliminate the risk of public embarrassment entirely before initiating contact. Evidence: The author repeatedly asks how to be "very sure BEFORE you open your mouth." He documents a history of inaction ("lost many good opportunities") caused by the fear of misinterpreting signals, such as confusing a stare directed at an unzipped garment with a romantic "Come Hither Look."

2. Complicating Factors: Age Disparity and Cultural Barriers

The author's advanced age and cross-cultural environment severely degrade his ability to read social cues accurately. Evidence: The author explicitly states he is "very old" and is attempting to decipher the behavior of "younger women" in Thailand. He classifies the local demographic as inherently "bashful." This combination creates a communication environment where baseline cultural politeness is easily confused with active romantic overtures.

3. Coping Mechanisms: Media Projection

The author utilizes familiar cultural artifacts to normalize his desires and manage his emotional discomfort regarding his isolation. Evidence: The postscript heavily references the 1956 film Baby Doll, a movie centered on age-disparate attraction. The author uses this reference to validate his feelings and artificially elevate the "somber mood" induced by his current reality.

4. Peer Review: Rejection of the Zero-Risk Model

The forum respondents wholly dismiss the author's core premise. They establish that guaranteed certainty is impossible and advocate for action-oriented, risk-tolerant methodologies.

  • Nemises (Time Limitation Strategy): Time spent analyzing signals results in missed opportunities. The physical window for action closes while the mental analysis occurs.

  • Sigmund (Statistical Volume Strategy): Rejection is an inevitable variable and must be accepted. The functional solution is high-volume, trial-and-error interaction ("hit on 10 or 20 girlies"). Sigmund correctly identifies the author's self-consciousness, rather than the women's subtlety, as the actual barrier to operational success.

==============

Gemini seems to say that I am unable to read cross-cultural cues.

But, this is only true for cultures which I DO NOT PREFER.....

What about you?

Have you watched this great film, Baby Doll?

==============

Concerning me, I guess Gemini nailed it here:

The author utilizes familiar cultural artifacts to normalize his desires and manage his emotional discomfort regarding his isolation. Evidence: The postscript heavily references the 1956 film Baby Doll, a movie centered on age-disparate attraction. The author uses this reference to validate his feelings and artificially elevate the "somber mood" induced by his current reality.

Sometimes, one just cannot hide from an AI......apparently....
