They did not. The damage is relatively isolated and specific to military locations.

If Iran tries to charge a toll for passage in an International Waterway, then it is effectively engaged in extortion, and a form of maritime piracy that targets the Gulf Arabs. Your excuse is to now say that if it shares with Oman it will be ok. That would still not make it right.

Your argument is incredibly stupid. The argument can then be applied in the Straits of Malacca and Bab el Mandeb passage. Apply tolls there, and watch the local economies suffer and the oil and gas market prices increase. If the Iranians can do it, then Sweden and Denmark should do it for their narrow waterways, the Baltic states can apply it to the entry of the Baltic sea. South Africa could apply a toll to the vessels transiting the Cape of Good Hope. The UK could do similar in the English Channel, or at Gibraltar and cripple the North African and Southern European economies.

Iran can try to impose its extortion. The world will not accept it. The OAU, India and others have already made their views known. The Arabs will not accept it either.

Maybe if oil & gas prices went through the roof, we'd be more committed to finding alternatives.

Are you really saying Iran didn't hold out and stand up against the US?!? That's winning!

You are not the world police. You are a Canadian exploiting a Canadian passport while living in Thailand after years of contributing nothing of concrete value to the country. You have not participated in any national conflict, or peacekeeping initiative, so don't carry on about "world police". You push politically motivated lecture, that should bave been left in the 1970's. Your attitude helped create 14 million refugees in the Syrian war. Hundreds of thousands died. Millions of refugees poured into the west and disrupted their social order. That's what inaction gives.

You should be ashamed of yourself. Iran murdered 55 Canadian citizens and 30 Canadian permanent residents when it shot down Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 on January 8, 2020. Iran refused to co-operate with the investigation. Canadian journalist Zahra Kazemi was savagely tortured and beaten to death by the Iranian state. World renowned environmental scientist Dr. Kavous Seyed-Emami and Canadian citizen was arrested and killed by the Iranian regime. Retired sociology professor Homa Hoodfar was arrested and tortured by the Iranian state all because she was suspected of being a feminist. She was a Canadian citizen visiting family. And many others have been detained, and harmed by the regime.

And now the iranian government has been caught inciting terrorism in Canada. Its operatives were identified in the recent attack on the US consulate in Toronto and in hate attacks on the Canadian jewish community such as arson at jewish religious locations. Canada had done nothing to Iran, but was an easy soft target. And here you come to claim Iran was never an enemy. You are in effect an enabler of terrorism and there's as much blood on your hands as those of the Iranian agents who tortured and murdered "enemies" of the Islamic revolution.

Thanks for making me the centre of the known universe, Pat. If you are to be believed, I've accomplished a whole lot!

I earned my Canadian citizenship. Canadians aren't special, they're human beings. The things you cite could happen to anyone.

Wait. I was supposed to go to Syria! Who knew?

Iran has never been our enemy. Sure, they behaved just as most govts do, with repression, with violence.

Leave Iran to the Iranians. We don't have any business there.

I'm going to go wash my hands now...

happy to oblige, the Iranians are not to be trusted in any agreement, right now, they are looking to get

some money back but they will never forget what Israel and the US did to them, and they will avange.

All those who gave the thumb down on my post, read today's news

where Trump has attacked Iran yesterday, and will see which way your thumb will go this time.

Hey, Israel bailed only two weeks in, leaving Trump holding the bag. Funny, Israel wasn't invited to the peace negotiations, eh?

Israel can "finish the job" without us.

If the US allows us to sell weapons to a 'death cult', fine, but not one red cent for Israel. Sink or swim.

''Hey, Israel bailed only two weeks in'' really? is that how you remember it? or that beer goggles has blocked your view from seeing who really did the most works and kill most of the Iranian leadership, go back to old records and prove me wrong.

I guess all deals are OFF, the master of the BS deal could complete one, just one, no Ukraine/Russia deal and no Iran/Israel/Lebanon deal neither, nothing to show besides just re-starting the fighting, nobody told him that Iran is not Venezuela, Iran doesn't bend, they are proud people and will fight back regardless if it's the "so called" strongest armys in the world, sure he doesn't want to deal with them because he knows he has lost and will lose again

Asked before a NATO summit in Turkey whether the memorandum of understanding was over, Trump said: "It's a very interesting question. To me, I think it's over. I don't want to deal with them."

"They're scum. They're sick people. They're led by sick people," he told reporters in Ankara. "As far as I'm concerned, it's just a waste of time dealing with them."

Iran fights back, Trump doesn't know what to do, he thought they would bedn over and kiss his funny but that's the contrary, they are kicking Trump's funny and kicking it big way, now we understand why the Gulf States were looking for a friendly approach with Iran, they send a message to Trump

"The era of bullying and extortion is over," Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf wrote on X. "It leads nowhere. We don't fold."

The Israelis killed these leaders within the first two weeks before their exit. Guess they thought their job was done. Maybe murdering some Lebanese was more immediate satisfaction.

''murdering some Lebanese''? just in case you live on another galaxy, those 'some Lebanese' are called Hezbollah, a terrorist group supported by Iran,

the same 'some Lebanese' that for many months, bombed the northern parts of israel by sending thousands of deadly drones laden with explosive causing a massive damage,

Donald ...Iran really wants a deal , how many times have we heard that ,40 -50

he does not understand the Iranian mentality ,they are a proud people and will

not give into him ,bomb them as much as you want but they won't capitulate ,

much like the British in the blitz ...

Well, 4,500 "Hezbollah" should have put a fair dent in them, don't you think. Israel has rubblefied Southern Labanon--incidentally, a sovereign nation--just as it did to Gaza.

You live in a different galaxy if you think the IDF only killed terrorists. As usual, they murdered everything that moved.

Another undeclared war. BTW, have you heard of the rule of law. Procedure would be to capture any terrorists they find and bring them to trial. Of course, murder is so much more efficient.

for the sake of it I can not understand how Trump and that guy wearing his son jacket keep saying the Iran army/navy are obliterated and unable to fight back and yet Iran keep sending missiles to the USA military bases in the are and also sending missiles to the gulf countries, how can that be, they have nothing, obliterated, nothing to send anywhere and yet they are doing it, what's missing here

"The United States is imposing a heavy cost by continuing to degrade Iran's ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial ships freely transiting the strait," the American military said.

Iran said that the strait would remain closed "until further notice" and said it would consider targeting "additional enemy bases in the region" if it faced more attacks.

US military says it is striking Iran in response to attack on civilian vessel in Strait of Hormuz

the negotiators Trump send to deal with Iran, Laurel & Hardy have been overplayed by Iran, sure it's not a surprise as they don't have any experience dealing with anything besides some crook deals in Real Estate

By contrast, the U.S. side’s lead negotiators are Jared Kushner, son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump, and Steve Witkoff, a longtime friend and Middle East envoy from a New York real estate development background. Both are close confidants who enjoy Trump’s absolute trust, but they have virtually no experience in nuclear negotiations, which require high-level expertise in nuclear weapons, uranium enrichment, and international verification systems.

The day Hezbullah will only kill isreali soldires, that'll be the day isreali solders will only kill non combating
