June 30Jun 30 The good thing about this second term abomination is how it's exposed how seriously weak democracy is. After the trash is taken out, we can start to rebuild and make it that much stronger to safeguard against fascist wannabes.

Then, simply drop it into the nearest mailbox—that is what voting and casting a ballot usually looks like today. In many votes, more than 90 percent of voters opt for postal voting rather than going to the polling station. This proportion has risen further due to the coronavirus pandemic.History facts:As early as the 17th century, for instance, sick people in the city of St. Gallen were permitted to vote by mail. At the federal level, the topic was repeatedly discussed starting in the 1870s. Another precursor was the fact that soldiers on active duty during the Second World War were able to vote by mail.At the federal level, this step was taken in 1994. The introduction of universal postal voting resulted in an increase in voter turnout of approximately 4 percent in each case.It seems that you don't want to have an increase of voters in the US.Ah, I guess forgot why you write this - the US under Trump shall become a confirmed banana republic.

Citizens do not merely elect politicians; they can also block laws or put forward new proposals themselves. Votes generally take place four times a year.

Say what you will about Mitch McConnell, that man was a successful tyrant when it came to running his party. He was extremely strategic and didn't bat an eye at shutting down the government if need be to push forward his agenda. The Dem's? They take pictures of themselves with a softball bat in their office or make warnings of sending "sternly worded messages." Talk about WEAK TEA! So many times I've asked myself "What would Mitch do?" when the Dem's are confronted with important issues. It seriously makes me wonder if they aren't tacitly in collusion with Rep's for the sake of doing the bidding of powerful lobbyists.
June 30Jun 30 It's almost incredible at this point when the Supreme Court hands Trump a setback as they do seem to be highly compromised, and they seem to be anything but Supreme at this stage. Any setback for the gutter trash president at this point is a victory for democracy, and a victory for America.

These decisions are usually issued rapidly via short, unsigned orders with little to no explanation.https://www.scotusblog.com/cases/interim-docket/2025/

June 30Jun 30 "Anything is possible [in Washington DC] in the middle of the night"-- Trump's Pool Guy on why bad things keep happening to Donald Trump's Great Ideas
June 30Jun 30 Trump's extreme level of disdain for the average American who is not wealthy continues to rear its ugly head. And that includes a large percentage of his supporters, which is seemingly unbeknownst to them. Just another hazard involved in electing a multi-billionaire grifter as leader of the nation. A major finger to the Americans in the most disadvantaged positions. The street pig cares not one iota for the middle class or poor Americans. Mr. Trump has been openly sabotaging the housing bill since Wednesday, when he abruptly pulled out of a much-anticipated signing ceremony that was set up for him on Capitol Hill. The president threw down an ultimatum instead: He would sign the bill only if Congress would first pass another bill, the SAVE America Act, which would impose stricter voter ID rules that would make it harder to vote. The day after Mr. Trump pulled his own rug out from under himself at the signing ceremony, Speaker Mike Johnson said he still planned to send the housing bill to the president to sign.Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Monday afternoon, Mr. Trump said that he had yet to receive it and that he was not sure he would sign it once it hit his desk.“I think it’s so unimportant,” he said. Later, he added, “To me, compared to the SAVE America Act, just about everything is a big yawn.”The disdainful remarks for a bill meant to alleviate Americans’ economic struggles are the latest in a series of similar comments that have an ever growing number of Republicans freaking out ahead of the midterms. “It’s a yawn” follows such observations as “I don’t care about the midterms,” “I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation” and “I love the inflation.”https://www.nytimes.com/2026/06/29/us/politics/trump-housing-bill.html?smid=nytcore-android-share
June 30Jun 30 When a 101-year-old hero who put himself In harm's way and could have easily lost his life in World War II speaks out about the draft dodger Trump, and his cowardice and hubris, one has to pay attention. Hilliard, a Purple Heart recipient, began by saying, "Well, as you just heard, next week I'll be 101 years old. In February 1944, when I was 18 years old, I was inducted into the Army, and they sent me for basic training to Camp Blanding, which is near Jacksonville, Florida.""And what they taught me to do there was to kill people who had set up detention camps in Germany," he continued. "Can you imagine how I felt earlier this year when they announced that one of the future detention camps would be at that same Camp Blanding in Florida? What remarkable irony.""We in this country have seen a remarkable change. And in Washington right now — and forgive me, I’m gonna use the 'f' word — we have a fascist, a fascist government that allows innocent people to be put in detention camps and incarcerated.""We have been lied to over and over and over again about these camps. Our president said these detention camps were being put up to put in immigrants who had criminal records. We now have about 65–70,000 people incarcerated in these camps.""29% have criminal records. 71% of the people in these camps, even with our country's and our government's statements about why they set up the camps, don’t belong there! 71% of the people in camps don’t belong there, according to the government, and yet they are put there."He closed by saying, "We’ve got to fight. We’ve got to keep fighting. We’ve got to reach people all over this country and tell them, 'Don't look away. See what’s happening.'"People in the comments were incredibly supportive of Hilliard's words. "If a 101-yr-old Veteran who was trained to spot and kill fascists in the Second World War says that we have fascists running our country, who has the knowledge to step up and call him wrong? Nobody," said one person.'Forgive Me, I'm Gonna Use The F-Word': A Century-Old Veteran Just Delivered The Most Brutally Honest Take On Donald Trump, And He Did NOT Mince Wordshttps://www.huffpost.com/entry/101-year-old-veteran-blasts-trump_n_6a442e9ce4b039eff60646f5.
