Issue here is not really "illegal business" as many business likely have no papers but still do not murder customers.

Issue is overreaction disrespected local big men -> murder, rather than just the mild beating. It is too much, and very stupid.

Just chatted with a chap I used to work with, who got set upon by about eight young guys after him and his mate intervened when they saw these thugs threatening a pair of kids at a bus stop. He has concussion and a fractured eye socket. His mate has two broken ribs and needed part of his earlobe reattached after the kicking they got.

This was about four days ago, in England.

Will receive a long sentence to satisfy family then be pardoned withing 18 months on King's birthday as per usually occurring scenarios and recommit again... sad.. RIP young man

Probably one of the least proud crimes that one can commit, considering the fact that the death was caused by pure cowardice, and total loss of one's mind.

It is likely he said or did something that pissed these guys off or caused them to lose face, but is that really a reason to take somebody's life? Real men don't gang up on somebody for a perceived insult or something similarly petty. This was a gang of 13-year-olds trapped in bodies that are considerably older. Guys that for a variety of reasons stopped developing emotionally at the age of 13. Lock them all up.

I know it's not right but after living in Thailand for the past 25 years I soon realised that getting yourself bombed on booze and or drugs and loitering around at 3 am is very dangerous especially in the tourist areas. Personally I've never touched drugs but in my hay day I used to drink up to 20 small beers every day. In those days the guys used to hit the bars around lunch time, pull a bird and be back in their room by 10 pm. These days the guys hitting Pattaya are probably around 30 yo and are full on mixing drugs with shots, they are very easy prey. The first thing I learn't in Pattaya was take care of your own ass number one.
