500k THB sounds like a lot of damage, but depending on the furnishings, it's quite possible.

 

I've been renting out an apartment for many years already (in Asia, but not Thailand) with various long-term tenants and varying experiences.

 Mostly good, but also a few bad apples.

 Once, a tenant moved out suddenly and left the apartment in a deplorable state. Many things were badly damaged—from bathroom tiles to the wooden furniture and the living room set. drilled holes in the wall, changed electrical sockets, things like that. I had to spend about 100,000 THB on repairs (painting, new living room set, television, etc.)—that was equivalent to several months' rent and was far from being covered by the security deposit.

My real estate agent told me from experience that it was pointless to contact the former tenant or to sue him. At least not worth the trouble. It's just the risk you take as a landlord.

Exactly, 1000 for cleanup, 3000 will paint the entire unit, 10k for a new TV. All done in a few days. Furniture can add up but you can buy a lot of the MDF in the picture for 500k, delivered tomorrow.

You are right there, but not my wife her car is spotless jing jing, a friend of ours left her car with my wife while she went away, My wife refused to use it until it was cleaned, it was disgusting, you would not have believed the same woman owned that car,

500,000 seems like too much. But, heck we don't know what all was damaged. Were the applicances ruined? New refrigerator, microwave, oven/stove-top? How bout counter tops and sink in the kitchen. Those add up.

New tiles in the shower and floor of the condo? New bed, mattress, TVs,?

Yeah the price sounds too high but some of you must live in dumps to estimate without knowing everything can be just fine for 100,000K.
