Over 2 trillion baht was collected by the government in tax revenue last year so who do you think is paying it if it's not the rich over poor?

The most regressive tax model is where it comes from: VAT. Poor pay a larger percentage by far due to having to spend all their meager earnings to survive. Not so the rich and well off. You should know that

We should also know that the following (where the low income spend most of their money) are exempt from VAT:

Section 81 of the Revenue Code exempts specific goods and services. Exempt categories include healthcare, education, agriculture, domestic transport, basic literature, religious/charitable services, and small businesses.

Thaksin hasn’t stated anything so far as the article is concerned. This guy gave an opinion and is quoted. It’s his personal opinion.

“The claim was made by Paisal Puechmongkol, a lawyer and former senator”

I disagree as stated,"official ruling or statement from the Revenue Department". The prosecutor lawyer quoted what the law states and differed from Thaksin's "legal opinion" had. It was not an opinion by the prosecutor. It was a correction.

There are nine paragraphs in the original article. Fully eight of them begin with the lawyers actual name or he said, or the lawyer said. Each quoted what the lawyer was saying and why.

The ninth paragraph was a short summery of what happens next.

Thaksin is not quoted at all.

So what? I made no reference to VAT. You should know that.

It doesn't clarify whether Paisal Puechmongkol, the 'senior lawyer' is working for Thaksin or just giving his own opinion. By the way, Thaksin left Thailand recently - do we know where he is now? Did he come back?
