Thai Visa-Free List Updated for 35 Destinations

Featured Replies

The Department of Consular Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has updated its 2026 list of countries and territories offering visa-free entry to holders of ordinary Thai passports. The revised list includes 35 destinations where Thai travellers can enter without applying for a visa, subject to each country’s entry conditions.

The permitted length of stay varies widely depending on the destination, ranging from 14 days to as long as 365 days. Some countries also offer visa-free entry only on a temporary basis, while others apply specific conditions to the exemption.

The updated guidance reminds travellers that visa-free arrangements are determined by the destination country and may change without notice. As a result, travellers are advised to confirm the latest entry requirements before every trip.

The Department of Consular Affairs recommends checking with the embassy of the destination country in Thailand or contacting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the most up-to-date information before departure. This is particularly important for destinations where visa exemptions are temporary or subject to additional conditions.

While the updated list provides greater clarity for Thai passport holders planning overseas travel in 2026, travellers remain responsible for ensuring they meet all entry requirements set by the country they intend to visit. These may include limits on the length of stay, permitted purposes of travel, or other immigration conditions.

The department stressed that visa-free entry does not guarantee admission, as final approval is granted by immigration authorities in the destination country. Travellers should therefore verify all requirements before travelling to avoid unexpected changes that could affect their plans.

At least someone in the relationship gets spontaneous travel… I need 6 weeks notice and a bank statement.

ON the list are of course the ASEAN countries which have all free entry. Rest is almost all 30 days, so I don't understand why people on this forum have such a problem with a visa free 30 days period. It is enough for a holiday. And the few 90 days are almost all in South America...

Agree. And if someone wants to stay longer they can easily buy a tourist e-visa, it gives them 60 days and it can be extended at any immigration office with another 30 days. Cost 1900 baht.

Notice , EU is not on the list.

Most desirable destination on the list must be Haiti 😄

Georgia sounds nice at this time of year.

I’ve been to Georgia on a hiking holiday and it’s a great destination. Tbilisi is a great capital city with an excellent old town and a modern section of tree lined wide boulevards.

The wine is excellent and seemingly grown everywhere by everyone in the countryside and the people very friendly. The only thing I didn’t like is that I found much of the food to be incredibly salty.

It might be a bit hot this time of year and you’d need to make sure there isn’t a flare up in political demonstrations, but I thoroughly recommend Georgia as a destination.

Some other countries in Latam, like Mexico, let Thais in, if they have a valid US visa and have entered the US successfully first. Gibraltar can be entered with a valid UK visa. At least both were the case a few years ago for the missus. We went to Russia when she didn't need a visa but I did. Unfortunately no one had told the border guards at Moscow airport who spent 10 minutes leafing through her passport looking for a visa and aggressively harassing us in Russian until another immigration official with half a brain came over and explained the Russian visa rules to the two oafs who couldn't understand how she had got that far without a visa.

This article is about Thais travelling to other countries, not about people visiting Thailand.

In 2018, Georgia became the second country to legalize cannabis,

So no problem for Thai tourists to transport tons of the drug into Tbilsi visa free!!
