A video allegedly showing a couple having sex in a Pattaya public park has circulated on Thai social media, prompting an investigation and calls for tighter overnight security.

The footage, shared on July 14, was reportedly recorded at Chaloem Phrakiat Public Park on Khao Phra Tamnak, a well-known exercise and recreation area used by residents and tourists.

Reporters who visited the park later confirmed that the location shown was a stone picnic table within the grounds. The video appears to show a man in a white shirt and a woman in a red top engaging in sexual activity at the table.

Guard saw man at the table

Winai, a park security guard, said he was patrolling the area between 3.20am and 3.30am when he saw a man sitting alone at one of the tables.

The man appeared to Winai to be from the Middle East, but he said he did not see a woman and had no reason at the time to suspect anything unusual.

Shortly afterwards, another man told Winai he had seen a couple carrying out a sexual act at the same location. Winai said he initially doubted the claim, until a colleague showed him the video circulating online and he recognised the table he had just checked.

He said he had never expected anyone to have sex in the park, although guards had previously encountered couples and people loitering in more secluded areas.

Calls for cameras and night patrols

The video has led to online calls for officials to increase patrols after dark and install more CCTV cameras in secluded parts of the park. Users have also urged authorities to identify those shown and consider legal action.

Officials are continuing to investigate. The identities and nationalities of the people in the footage have not been confirmed.

For foreign residents and visitors in Pattaya, the case is a reminder that conduct in public spaces can quickly attract attention from security staff, police and social media users. There is currently no confirmed evidence that either person in the footage is a foreign national, despite the guard's initial description of the man he saw.

Chaloem Phrakiat Public Park is popular with walkers, runners and visitors during the day, while its quieter areas can be less visible overnight. The calls for additional cameras and patrols may therefore affect how the park is monitored after dark if officials act on them.

There's thrill in doing it in a public place. An edgy thrill like taking a risk on a dare.

I have an apartment with a balcony on a high floor and liked to take my gf there, both wearing only shirts. There's an infestation of pigeons at a corner of the balcony and, unfortunately, they got so used to our presence that they began walking under us and back and forth even as we were occupied. And one day all of a sudden this spooked my gf just as we were getting hot and heavy.

"Let's go inside, Auto," she says pushing me back.

"What, why?" I said understandably frustrated.

"I don't like pigeons watching us. It's bad luck."

"But, baby, I watch pigeons going at it all the time right here during the day."

"I am not a pigeon."

And that was that. Thai logic.

It doesn't look like a very exciting experience in the video.

I agree better CCTV cameras are needed in the park so we can see better videos of the action....

And hopefully with sound too..I find the above video disappointing....

The pervert who filmed the incident and uploaded it should be arrested for breaking the the Computer-Related Crime Act. The shaky camera shows that he filmed with one hand while using the other hand for something else.

Disgusting and completely unacceptable in modern society. The video is grainy, out of focus, shaky, with very poor lighting and composition. Any Karen who can't afford a phone with decent video quality should get a new hobby 🙄

Walking in a public park at 3:30 in the morning, one should not be surprised by anything they see.

As for the pervert with the camera - get a life.

Did you used to be an editor for Penthouse/Playboy/Hustle when we had them? Your comments remind me of the section where comments like yours are written about previous sexual experiences. The video shows no sexual activity, whatsoever, it (just about) shows two fully clothed people at long distance, one apparently sitting on the lap of the other, that's not sex.

Unknown to the Security Guard, the park was also used for sexercise.
