US Arrest Tate Brothers After 38 New UK Charges

Featured Replies

Controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate have been arrested in the United States following a decision by British prosecutors to bring new charges against them.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said it authorised 38 additional counts against the brothers, bringing the total to 59.

The arrests were carried out in the US as extradition proceedings begin, the CPS said, after the brothers were taken into custody by US authorities.

New UK charges

The CPS said Andrew Tate, 39, faces seven further counts of rape, along with charges relating to sex trafficking and indecent images of a child.

Tristan Tate faces two counts of rape and three charges of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.

The CPS said the alleged offences are said to have taken place between July 2010 and August 2017. The Tates have previously denied wrongdoing.

According to the CPS, the charging decisions followed receipt of a further evidence file from Bedfordshire Police and mean there are seven alleged victims in the case.

Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire police have been investigating what they described as a “complex investigation”. As a result of the additional work, 38 new charges were authorised.

The CPS said the brothers’ UK caseload now totals 59 counts: Andrew faces 42 charges and Tristan faces 17.

US custody and extradition steps

US Marshals confirmed to the BBC that the brothers had been taken into custody, while a US Department of Justice spokesperson said the arrests were “pursuant to extradition proceedings”.

The CPS said that, following their arrest, prosecutors will start the legal process to extradite Andrew and Tristan Tate, who hold dual British and US citizenship, to the UK to face the charges.

Malcolm McHaffie, head of the CPS Special Crime Division, said the CPS charging decisions were based on the additional evidence and that the total number of alleged victims in the case is seven.

Legal disputes and earlier court ruling

After the arrests on Saturday evening, lawyer Joseph McBride, who represents the Tates, said they were innocent and argued the additional charges were aimed at countering a defamation action brought by the brothers in the US. He also said he expected the case to be dismissed when a judge reviewed the facts.

In 2024, Bedfordshire Police secured European arrest warrants to have the brothers returned from Romania, where they are based and under criminal investigation.

Earlier this year, in June, the brothers lost a legal bid to be told the names of their UK accusers. The CPS said it was necessary to withhold the names until legal action formally started.

Matt Jury, a lawyer representing several alleged British victims of Andrew Tate, welcomed the new charges, saying the brothers are accused of serious offences including multiple counts of rape and human trafficking and that they should face justice.

Will see how much of effort by Trump to prevent their extradiction. Rubio has a great deal of authority in extradiction cases and they are US citizens. Trump's heavy hands will be all over this case to help fellow pedo and they are Barron Trump's mentor too.

I doubt it, we have a very fair justice system.

Trump pardons them and invites them to the Whitehouse for a photo op for the promotion of the new MAGA Save Our Kiddie Diddlers Act in 3, 2, 1....
