A 33-year-old woman seriously injured in the Mountain B nightclub fire in Sattahip, Chon Buri, has appealed for assistance as the fourth anniversary of the tragedy approaches on 5 August.

Siriporn Thongsawat, who suffered severe burns to her face, both hands, arms and body, still requires continuing medical treatment and further surgery, according to her mother Pranee Schmid.

On 20 July, Pranee, 55, took her daughter to speak to reporters, saying the family had already paid around 2 million baht in medical expenses themselves. She said they had received 150,000 baht in compensation after the fire, but no further financial support.

The Mountain B blaze occurred in Sattahip district, Chon Buri, on 5 August 2022. The legal case remains before the courts, Pranee said, adding that she did not know when it would be resolved.

Continuing care and lost income

Pranee said her daughter can still live independently to some extent, but cannot manage as she did before the fire and needs her mother's help with certain tasks.

She said Siriporn is unable to work, leaving her mother as the household's sole earner while medical bills continue. Pranee also said no agency or party connected to the case had come forward to offer care, help or advice.

Siriporn said she wanted government agencies to provide guidance on jobs that she might be able to do, so that she could earn an income and reduce the burden on her mother.

She also called for help with treatment costs, saying she still needs to see doctors and undergo additional operations.

Her injuries include burns to her face, both arms and other parts of her body. She has four fingers remaining on each hand, although they are not full fingers.

I have been expecting to hear something like this. so many promises where made at the time but the suffering goes on.

Disgusting behaviour by both the gov. the gov agencies & the actual owners - only 150k - pathetic!

Dear oh dear, that video is a tough watch. Such a tragedy at a young age.

Let's hope bringing the issue to public attention triggers some response.

I can't stop crying after seeing the poor girl in the video. What a tragedy for a beautiful young lady.

It seems from my limited knowledge Thai's generally don't start Gofundme type charitable pages. Trying to understand is that because they don't want to Burden society, they hold the Venue Fully accountable, or are just being patient while the court case Slowly moves through the system.

And life goes on for all those involved owners originally offer 50,000, I remember the case Her case left in hallway or something a friend pleaded they took her to private hospital in Pattaya but wouldn't keep her because no money so shipped back to Sattahip the Navy or Army hospital who they themselves a were overwhelmed.

How many I forget were burn alived

The venue was opened illegally and was a fire trap from the beginning a venue this size there were lots of government hands involved along with investments from BIB.

I said then it will be swept under the rug just as the bus fire that burn 25 plus kids alive was.

This government does two things well put a good show on and constantly have their hands out to gofundthemselves!

There should be statutory liability insurance for bars, nightclubs and venues.

So sad. And, disgusting that the case has not been resolved after 4 years. What's taking so long? Compensation for cases like hers should be large, and ongoing.

That is a terrible indictment on the owners of that club.
