Elon Musk Loses It Over The Odyssey

So Elon Musk loses his s**t over The Odyssey, claiming he'll have Grok produce a full length movie that's "historically accurate". He might as well say he wants "The Lord Of The Rings" to be authentic and accurate.

A long, long time ago I thought Musk was smart. He's not. He's dumB with a capital B.

Musk is 100% correct. In “Apocalypto,” Mel Gibson transports you into the mind of a Mayan 500 years ago. In “The Northman,” Robert Eggers transports you into the mind of a Viking a thousand years ago

Imagine Elon Musk watching nearly 3 hours of The Odyssey movie, full of giants, cyclopes, sea monsters, sirens, a trip to Hades/hell visiting the undead dead, witches, shape shifter etc, etc, but what makes him rage is about 3 minutes of screen time for a Black Helen of Troy, a person appearing in a fable/myth.

And did I mention that the main character, which is supposed to be Greek, is played by a blond, blue eyed guy?🤣

https://www.euronews.com/culture/2026/02/02/why-is-elon-musk-taking-aim-at-christopher-nolans-casting-decisions-for-the-odyssey

"Elon Musk is mad at the thought that Helen of Troy could be played by a Black actress, saying that Oscar winning director Christopher Nolan “has lost his integrity” over the casting of the peerless Lupita Nyong’o."

Perhaps Musk is simply saying that the film should have been a more accurate depiction of the epic, less the woke casting and not a portrayal of the main character as a villain ?

Disclaimer I have not read the poem or seen the film 😋

Musk is 100% correct.

In “Apocalypto,” Mel Gibson transports you into the mind of a Mayan 500 years ago. In “The Northman,” Robert Eggers transports you into the mind of a Viking a thousand years ago. In “The Odyssey,” Christopher Nolan transports you into the mind of a liberal woman in 2017.

This is a big budget Hollywood epic and anybody who's familiar with Hollywood is going to know that they don't care about sticking with the facts or portraying history accurately. And there's always going to be a woke element in any film that comes out of Hollywood. Some TV shows tend to defy that trend, which is refreshing.

It's probably safe to say that Elon Musk is not a moron as he has accomplished quite a bit, though most experts argue that he's never really created anything on his own and he is likely incapable of doing so.

But the man sure makes a lot of noise and he seems to demonstrate his ignorance on a daily basis. The irony is that he is a true African-American and yet he seems to despise people of color.

Some people would be greatly admired to a considerably larger extent, if they simply kept their ridiculous mouths shut and let their actions do the talking. Musk certainly comes to mind and I could definitely name a few others.

The term "he wears his power lightly and with much grace" does not seem to apply to goombas like Musk, nor his former friend Don.

Review (not mine but I agree):
Just saw The Odyssey. Despite what you may have heard, literally all of the criticisms by conservatives were entirely correct. The movie is just as woke as you fear, if not more so. The DEI casting is atrocious. Completely takes you out of the story right from the beginning. But even worse than that is Nolan’s decision to turn Odysseus into an anachronistic whiney, solemn shell of a man plagued by “trauma” and guilt. It’s impossible to overlook these flaws because the film itself is not terribly entertaining or well constructed. For the most part it is disjointed, dull, self-serious, disenchanted, somehow feeling both verbose and overly rushed at the same time. The dialogue is some of the worst I’ve ever heard in a “critically acclaimed” film. “On the nose” and “clunky” are descriptions that can’t even begin to describe this script. At no point in the story does Nolan ever transport the audience to the ancient world. You never feel like you’re 3,000 years in the past. You feel like you’re watching modern Americans put on a pageant, because you are. Nobody would be calling this thing a masterpiece if it was made by a director not named Christopher Nolan.

I do wish eBay didn't bail him out when PayPal was collapsing. The world would be a much better place.

Elon Musk Loses It Over The Odyssey

Honestly, Nolan's the Odyssey is a hype-fill but boring as hell movie. A much, much better movie was The Return (2024) with Ralph Fiennes.

Wow - spot on. You nailed it, "In 'The Odyssey,' Christopher Nolan transports you into the mind of a liberal woman in 2017."

Speaking of historically accurate myths (yes, an oxymoron), when is Musk going to tear into that "Mike Angelo" guy and his obviously inaccurate chunk of stone he called the Pieta?

I mean, it's a white Italian woman, who looks mid 30s maximum, holding the body of another Caucasian guy who is 33 years old, yet supposedly her son fathered by some spirit in the sky. Was that Mary the original Bryan Johnson, who did not age? And people as white as the marble! Come on, Elon. Where's your critique?

Granted it's a beautiful piece of work, but it has nothing to do with folks who lived in Jerusalem in the year 0.

Pathetic.....only word for it.

So you have watched the movie? What did you think of his choice of leading man? Odyssey was supposed to be a weather beaten Greek, yet is played by a fair skinned, blond guy with blue eyes?

Preposterous, right?thumbsup

The entire political right was raging over the "wokeness" of this movie, and now their minds are exploding as The Odyssey is turning into a box office sensation.😂

'The Odyssey’s Success Is Inspiring Unprecedented Levels of Cope'

https://www.wired.com/story/the-odysseys-success-is-inspiring-unprecedented-levels-of-cope/

"For months, Elon Musk and the right-wing cranks he caters to on X have whipped themselves into a raging froth over the supposed desecration of an ancient Greek poem by one of the most successful movie directors alive.

Now that their manufactured backlash has bombed, they’re searching for ways to cope with the reality that they are increasingly divorced from popular opinion."

Elon Musk has claimed he will create his own AI-generated version of 'The Odyssey'

I'm sure he will. The Odyssey was a travesty. Where was the Greek sex?

Why, the Greeks practically institutionalized the desire of men to <deleted> younger men in a "normal" way, combining mentorship, athletic training, and romance, much like marriage or heterosexuality in modern society, offering a primary model for those experiencing such desires.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. 😏

He's right - it's garbage.

Anything with Anne Hathaway in it should automatically be avoided.

  1. When Musk says something will definitely happen before the end of the year, it never happens.

  2. The MAGA movement is filled to the rafters with repressed homosexuals, so even if they would rage if the Greeks were doing mano a mano stuff in a movie, they would watch it over and over again. There's a reason the movie 300 is a MAGA favourite.😉

Says another "film critic" who has not watched the movie.🤣

PS. It is rumored that Nolan's next project is called "The Brexit Idiocy: Return To Brussels", and the cast will mainly be Brits of South Asian heritage.thumbsup

What do you have against people of South Asian heritage? The eyes? The dark skin? Do tell...

I'd have thought you hated people of English ethnicity much more.

Partly true. I could only stomach 20 minutes before turning it off.

What a waste of 1GB of data.

I have nothing against them. You're projecting your own racism on me.
