I think one should not see these terrible films, anyway.

Instead, I read this book by Homer.

I did not read it in Greek or Latin, but in the English translation.

I was very young then and so I found the telling riveting.

I advise AGAINST watching any films such as this, or similar films, like, IDK, Jason and the Lilliputians.

These fantasies must be read, and not watched on some dumB screen.

The Homer books, in English, are well worth a read, when one is young enough.

You may know that The Odyssey was written by Homer as an epic poem. I think everyone should read it. I particularly like the recent Robert Fagles’ translation. There are 46 others! (Ah Fitzgerald is wonderful, too.)

Pro tip: Don’t read any introduction first. (That’s true for any book. You want to form your own fine tune to enjoy the fantastic story. Who knows, maybe some of it even happened in history! Read the intro last—that’s just someone else’s opinion.

The E.V. Rieu translation turns Homer’s poetry into prose, more novelistic, if you prefer.

Three minutes of a black woman playing a woman who is depicted as a white woman in the original source is three minutes too much. One of the greatest fiction novels (by sales) main character has never been raced swapped in any Hollywood movie as far as I can recall.
