There are plenty of single women aged 27 to 35. Their first marriages or relationships often fail.

25% of country gals are single but 50% in Bangkok are yet they flirt more in the country. Bangkok does offer better jobs which may explain it.

Saying 99% of women 18-35 y/o in a village are already romantically involved was probably a stretch, but not by much. When you consider how young women get married or get pregnant in rural Thailand, the scarcity of employment opportunities outside of farm labor, and urbanization trends which siphon off a good percentage of young working age people to the cities, it quickly becomes apparent that sustaining a single head of household in rural Thailand is extremely difficult which puts great pressure on them to either move to a city or become romantically involved. I would also point out that many retail mom-and-pop businesses, while not impossible to maintain as a single person, do much much better when they are run by a husband and wife team. In a word, there is tremendous financial pressure to enter into and stay in relationships in rural Thailand.
