Trump says Iran to pay for ship damage

July 24 (UPI) -- The United States and Iran traded attacks Thursday night and Friday morning, as President Donald Trump announced that damage inflicted by Iran on ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz would be paid with U.S.-held Iranian assets.

U.S. Central Command said its latest wave of attacks, which were completed at 9 p.m. EDT Thursday, lasted for about two hours, 15 minutes, during which its forces hit Iranian military command centers, drone storage facilities, communications networks, coastal surveillance sites and maritime capabilities.

I doubt they will care. Even the most even minded of Iranian leaders have almost certainly realised that there isn't a snowball in hells chance of the USA ever returning any of the Iranian assets which it holds.

I rather suspect that this is merely a precursor to those assets being cashed in and transferred to the US defence funding.

Attacking ships in UAE and Omani territorial waters that are Not Israeli or USA flagged is defending Iran?

Maybe research how this originally started back in December 2025 with the uprising, sharp decline in rial, hyper inflation, water, energy shortages, total communications and internet Blackout.

Varying numbers but thousands of civilians killed with a few weeks.

if the Iranian 'regime' is so hated by its population why did they not rise up and overthrow the government as Trump told them to, remember ?

Also why did so many millions turn out for the funeral af the Ayatollah and his family ?

Here is another thing to have a little think about.. what if a certain 'countries' who have been calling for 'regime' change in Iran actually facilitated,funded and armed anti government groups both in Iran and from neighbouring countries to go in and cause trouble,demonstrations and murder of government officials to try and achieve that 'regime' change resulting in a large number of deaths (nowhere near 10's of thousands)

The Iranians who did rise up were killed.

Iran has offered that 3200 were killed during the uprisings and protests.

The people who have come out for the regime rallies are often required to attend. The rallies are organized by the government. Government workers are told to attend. Families of the Iranian Guards attend.

The US should be responsible for the cost of rebuilding all civilian targets and infrastructure in Iran. And there's a good possibility that before Trump withdraws with his tail between his legs, he's going to accept Iran's demand of trillions of dollars for rebuilding. That's how unreliable, desperate and idiotic this street trash goon is.

Well that may seem fair only if the IRGC is held to account for all the damage they have done together with its proxies over the last 47 years.

Just the economic cost is around $ 8 TRILLION USD, but of course they cant bring back all the people they have killed.......around 250,000, mainly civilians!
