  • Strange that they don't confiscate the passport when on bail, kinda stupid

  • They thought he might be in Thailand in 2024 when he was sentenced. Would be interesting to hear what efforts have been made since then to locate and extradite him, if any.

The early-release bit is a hook. The new govt has said it won't move ahead with that. That said, I'd favour early release for all nonviolent offenders. Have to give them another chance. Repeat offend

As this wasn't a press release, I very much doubt it, do you think IOs read Asean Now?

I would think that at least some of the more intelligent officers are even tasked with it, if only as a sideline. If I was a DCI I'd sure as hell have this lot watched.

Only a fool would write stuff here that could interest Immigration/BiB.

They are talking about early release from prison ,when he has not even been in prison,

find him lock him up and throw away the key , these type of people never change ,he is

most likely doing the same thing now wherever he is ,

regards Worgeordie

Someone, somewhere along the communication chain is trolling. He will most certainly have to go to jail. And sit any portion of his sentence required before early release, whenever that is.

There is no way you could make time on the lam count towards early release. Not even English management is that bad.

2 years on the run hopefully first thing uk did was cut off his pension and usual banking facilities. Either someone back home is helping him or who knows may have been a John doe paupers funeral.

One thing for sure even a 50% ( 11 years ) added to his 76 age takes a good portion of his life expectancy if caught

He could also be in Laos, Philippines or Vietnam. How stupid to release this nasty piece of <deleted> on bail.

Happens in other countries too, never really understood why they get released when they are obviously a danger to the public and a near certain flight risk!

Many seem to have been convicted and get released based on an appeal, which should of course have no assumption of innocence with a conviction standing.

The man in question was given bail prior to the trial
