No Patts is not a common nickname. Just used by a few deluded expats that thinks it makes them sound very experienced and like a person in the league of dreadful barstool alco´s. You know the hot guy with the right talk! Your social circle! 😂

Common nickname used by English speakers. You can barely speak the language.

Move somewhere better. Patts is a dump.

  • and here we go again. The rantings of Thailand's most vocal unknowing budget traveler. 🤣🤣

  • it's a looooong 'weekend' the Bangkok Thais make their traditional pilgramage to the shopping malls of Pattaya and revel in recreating the gridlock of 'Grungthep' that they are accustomed to.

Wanted to drive 4 km to Central Mall yesterday. Took an hour before I was parked. Followed GPS for best route, took me through the back streets from Thepasit. And this is low season and a weekday.

What's going on?

Sounds like another average day to me. I won't try drive anywhere in the afternoon or early evening. Especially Fridays and Sundays. I get all my stuff done in the morning and then park it. That is on a scooter. 10x worse on a car.

The problem is that there is only one small road into Central Pattaya, (from the South) 2nd road, and that is always subject to road works (for the past 15 years). Traffic will always be bad and will get worse as they build thousands more condos along 2nd road. Grand Solaire alone is 2500 units.

I don't remember ever hearing anyone say the word Patts before. Guess I don't hang with the cool guys.

Ok, I guess you and Rocky meet up frequently, or you are just at that social circle level where it´s time for the barstool talks at 16.00 every day. Same same! 😂

Use a motorcycle when Prattaya is busy on Holidays , Bhudda days or weekends , dont bother with cars

If live in metro or tourist are, MB is mandatory transport at rush hour & weekends.

Krung Thep, Patts, even Udon Thani was silly congested morning rush hour (school drop off) and afternoon rush hour & beyond.

At least you could drive around Udon from 1000 - 1430 without no issue, and nice to pop in for a munch or take care of business.

DOH! They said weeks ago that they will be doing road work on Second Road. Stop complaining.

Yeah the circle of friends I mentioned, they are expats living in Patts!

I stay home holidays, this is super “heavy” holiday. 🤔

I am a dreadful barstool former heavy social drinker and I've only ever known it to be referred to as Patts on here. Same with the Hilton.

Not broke but my financial position did improve when I moved to the flat rate 17% income tax, that resulted in an extra 20k per month in my pocket!

No, not at all. Only when people try to say they are widespread. Patts is not a common expression, and it´s only used by the barstool losers in Pattaya.

Again you show your true colors, Rocky!

Yeah, some exclusive member here, think to know thing that doesn´t exist. Anyway, when you said former, I congratulate you to your better life. Strong move! Respect!

Loser, I avoid Patts. Rarely drink. You really are dumb.

Traffic in Pattaya is nuts without any Thai Holiday anyway. At least compared to 15 or 20 years ago. What you experienced then on the absolute top of high season, is now the traffic you have in the deepest low season. Then the state of the roads. Potholes everywhere, probably the badest roads in Thailand. It was the reason for me to stop spending my holidays in Jomtien and I enjoy them now in Hua Hin and Pran Buri. As soon as you are of the main road its quiet with more cows then cars. Loving it. Much more to explore and the roads smooth like a babys behind.

Traffic is bad in Pattaya on a long weekend..... who woulda thunk it!

I used to go Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Pattaya Tai was always gridlocked. The main hold-up is the lights at 3rd Road. There are more people trying to get into or out of town than those crossing town. This seems to have escaped the notice of the dolts who set the traffic lights. The tailback reaches Sukhumvit so there is gridlock there too. Of course amid all of this chaos there is NEVER a sign of traffic police who could arrest those blocking ingress/egress of side sois by parking in the newly painted yellow-striped boxes.

Nowt wrong with meeting up regularly at the bar at whatever time suits, did it for years. Not with Rocky though.

What´s wrong is that you sit drinking every day, around 4-8 beers or more. That classifies you as an alcoholic. But, if you see nothing wrong in that, that´s perfectly ok. Drinking every day usually also affects any good judgement a person might have had.

No, but you must be. You avoid Pattaya and you rarely drink and still speak crazy and use words that doesn´t exist.

First, you dig yourself down all by yourself. Like, how can you know it a very common expression in Pattaya, and at the same time post you avoid Pattaya??? You just shot yourself in the foot, without having a clue about it! That´s dumb!

When you know finally posted the above, you have just given a new level of how severe the problem is. 😂
