Police have arrested a suspect known as Thong after he fled on a red motorcycle near Khao Laem subdistrict in Wang Sombun, Sa Kaeo province. A second suspect, known as Pong, remains at large after escaping into nearby forest.

Thong was caught after police pursued him closely through the border area around Khao Laem subdistrict, in Wang Sombun minor district. He reportedly abandoned his red motorcycle and ran into the forest, but officers later tracked him down and detained him.

Pong is believed to be hiding in the same wooded area. Police have deployed additional officers to surround the area and conduct an intensive search.

Police commander takes charge

The commander of Provincial Police Region 2 travelled to the scene to personally direct the operation. He ordered officers to speed up the search for the remaining suspect so that he can be taken into custody and prosecuted as soon as possible.

Authorities have not released further details about the allegations against either man, nor have they said whether any weapons were involved.

The operation is centred on forested ground in Wang Sombun, Sa Kaeo, a province in eastern Thailand near the Cambodian border.

The search for Pong remains under way.

I'm glad they are closing in on these awful perps that have clearly committed an extremely horrible crime on these two kids... they need to be really harshly dealt with as an example to others, as they probably just killed the 17 year-old boy and then raped and murdered the woman, then probably fed them to crocs or something equally sinister... should be the firing squad for these two.
