[Opinion. Yep, Zuck is sure a man of the people who keeps his crew in line. Wrong channel, right! Every boatman knows SOS is Channel 16. In fact, Zuck may well be in violation of int’l law of the seas. They were in the water, and declined responsibilty, “repeatedly”, which means the yacht must have been reached on some channel, right? Charge him! Even confiscate the boat!]

Mark Zuckerberg has faced questions over why a small cruise ship in south-east Alaska rescued a stranded skiff and its crew when his 387ft superyacht had been closer.

The Silicon Valley billionaire’s yacht, worth a reported $300m, is said to have “repeatedly” declined to assist when a nearby boat called for help last week.

Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook and Instagram owner Meta Platforms, was not on board at the time, a spokesperson told Forbes.

Although I'm not a fan of Mark Zuckerberg, he was not on the boat at the time. The responsibility lies with the captain.

But... Captain might be following company rules rather than SOLAS procedures.

Saving costs rather than lives might be the policy.
