Sepang F1 tickets from RM200 for MyKad holders

Malaysians with a MyKad will be able to buy special tickets from RM200 for Formula 1's return to Sepang in October, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced.

The Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang International Circuit is scheduled for 2 to 4 October. It will mark the sport's return to Malaysia for the first time since 2017.

Anwar said the special Tiket Madani pricing was agreed following discussions with Bahrain and was intended to give more Malaysians the chance to attend the full three-day event.

The special offer is for MyKad holders and starts at RM200. Further details will be announced by Sepang International Circuit.

Earlier ticket prices already published

Three-day passes announced earlier in the week for Malaysian citizens ranged from RM200 for the G Hillstand to RM2,083.40 for the Main Grandstand.

The Prime Minister said the initiative aimed to make it easier for Malaysians to experience Formula 1 in person when the race returns to Sepang.

What it means for foreigners in Malaysia

The announced Madani offer is specifically for MyKad holders, so foreign residents and overseas visitors should not assume they qualify. They should wait for Sepang International Circuit to publish the final ticket conditions and purchase routes.

Anyone planning an October visit should also arrange accommodation and transport early, as the race marks Formula 1's first Malaysia event in nine years.
