But the restaurant owner is breaking the law! It is not legal to display any foreign flag in Thailand, unless one is an official representative of that country, such as an embassy or consulate. Only the display of the Thai flag is allowed...

Flags of other nations are on display all over the place. I used to have a few Union flags at my house. I was having fun with my Scots neighbours who had Scotland flags flying.

This incident was about PROVOCATION.

When you provoke, you get a reaction.

When I asked my wife what she thought about the Government being so grossly pro Palestinian terrorists, she pointed out that in every location where there were seemingly misbehaving Israelis there was a strong muslim community, even in Pai.

So you have have it, it is more Anutin pragmatism, to keep the Arabs a sense of inclusion, justice and fairness a unnecessary accessories.

I would encourage you to be more careful with your language and the way you respond to post on this forum. How many people do you think have ever met 5 million people from one nation and actually had a conversation with each of them? That would likely take about nine lifetimes. And you are claiming that you could not get a sense of the way people feel generally without speaking to millions of people?

I think that a fair conclusion is that you like to argue just for the sake of arguing, and when your arguments stop making sense that's what we stop paying attention.

There is nothing wrong with my language on this forum .

My point is that you cannot state the opinion of 15 million Palestinians based on your five* Palestinians friends opinion .

Now, if you think that you can indeed grasp the opinion of 15 million people based on knowing 5 of them, then please explain why .

I did live there for year or so , so , got acquainted with many genuine Palestinians (Not Americans whose Parents came from the area ) , I got aquinted with Palestinian terrorists , the Black September guys .

Sorry no - it's illegal to fly the flag of any nation apart from Thailand, unless you are an embassy, official vehicle etc. Flying your own country flag below the Thai flag doesn't make it legal.

That law is outdated and - to our knowledge - never has been enforced before the Israelis started to complain.

On the subject of knowing what Palestinians think, I do have a suggestion.

I've watched many many hours of random interviews with Palestinians on the youtube channel The Ask Project.

From that I've made a firm conclusion -- the vast majority of Palestiinians will NEVER accept the existence of Israel. In other words they do NOT want peace as the Jews aren't just going to leave.

Some people like to sugarcoat the situation. Raality is reality.

When I was a lot younger there was a world cup and I'd invited an English couple to watch the game in my house, just for fun, to see how the would react, I hung up a Swastika flag in the living room. It was a Germany game. Those Brits did not even flinch. Joked and were not focused on the flag at all, just on the football.

This British reaction proves, a flag ned not cause emotional turmoil. Sensible people can keep self control, it's just a flag.

The chances of a peaceful outcome were pretty much screwed back in 1947 by the refusal of the Arab League and Palestinian leaders to accept the UN partition plan. Until all Palestinian and Islamic groups recognize the right of Israel to exist as the homeland of the world's Jews, peace is an impossibility.

Recognition is the step that precedes everything else in a lasting peace process. Once Israel has been recognized by all Arab states and formal, internationally recognized borders have been set with Lebanon and Syria through treaties, other matters can be settled through negotiations. Since Israel set borders and signed treaties with Egypt (1979) and Jordan (1994), no military actions have occurred involving those countries.

What are you going to do with the 14+ million Palestinians living in Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank?

Expulsion was tried and failed in the 1940s.

Genocide is being tried now with disastrous consequences for Israel worldwide.

Israel will go the way of Apartheid South Africa, and rightly so.
