The nearest place would be Pai, very popular with young Israeli travellers, we go up there about 4 times a year with the motorbike group from Chiang Mai. The only interaction I've had with either male or female in conversation is military chat, me being ex British Army, what I do notice is how much respect they have for British Armed Forces.

Perhaps they need a synagogue, as opposed to a Chabad House... But then that would really be for a religious purpose.
