People that hate Jews are everywhere. They often refer to them as "cheap/stingy" people.

That would be a reason, wouldn't it? If you are trying to make a living and you have people refusing to pay and trying to renegotiate the indicated prices after using the service. Yes, I have personally seen it happen.

It is clear the mass-influx of Israelis is causing huge problems in Thailand, from Phuket, to Pai, to Ko Samui, to Ko Phangan. Putting a 15 limit on visits from Israelis and preventing them from sett

Not my experience, the jews I know are very generous people.

Is the reason you hate Jews?

I don't have any reason to hate anyone.

Why? They sound quite interesting. I would quite like to go.

But its for Jews though .

Its not really for people who just want to go for a look around .

Its not a public building where anyone can just walk in

That's what's so annoying.

British people say that about people from Yorkshire and Scotland. I don't see them up in arms about it.

May as well have a total ban which I realize many of you would love.

Israelis would just go elsewhere.

An own goal for Thailand.

I AGREE.

I want a TOTAL BAN on citizens whose countries are engaged in an active war.

Why reward these people for bad behavior.

Thailand stay, of any length, should be reserved as a reward for citizens of countries which exhibit Good World-Community Behavior.

Jews aren't "up in arms" about it either

I don't know. You tell me.

Why do they have to go anywhere?

I'm not religious so don't ask me but religious people of any faith seem to want houses of worship.

Do people need that as they need food. Objectively not but so what?

Chabad are not just a religious organization, they are a political organization.

So is the Russian Orthodox Church. Would you ban them too? If so, congrats on being consistent.

So ban Americans then?

Synagogue should do it.

The Russian Orthodox Church is, alas, not embarking on a program of building mystical-religio-political houses for Russian soldiers all over Thailand. Nor is it even remotely as well funded as Chabad. Nor do they send out glittering prospects to entice locals to come visit Thailand's mystical-religio-political houses, causing massive spikes in Russian tourists, the way Chabad houses cause spikes in Israeli tourists.

It's a little different. Chabad is far more sinister than the Russian Orthodox Church.

Perhaps they need a synagogue, as opposed to a Chabad House... But then that would really be for a religious purpose.

Due to small numbers it's not realistic to build formal Jewish temples all over Thailand.

But Chabad houses still function as houses of worship for religious Jews and they are often located in places with no synagogues.

Again, the Jewish people are a TINY minority compared to Christians, Buddhists. Muslims,, Hindus, etc.

I'm not expert but it's quite a big deal to have a formal Jewish temple. You need a torah and housing for the torah.

Causing a lot of trouble for such a tiny percentage...

About 20% of Israelis aren't Jewish.

Not all Jews are Israelis, and not all Israelis are Jews.

So please don't conflate the two.

You left out the part saying about half of global Jews ARE Israelis, and people trashing Israelis in Thailand always mean Israeli Jews.

14 minutes ago, Jingthing said:

ABSOLUTELY?

Why should we get special treatment?

(There is always China. Let those whose countries are engaged in war retire/travel to/lie-on-the-beach in China, instead, until these citizens pressure their govs to stop war.)

Thailand travel should be treated as a REWARD for good citizens of the world.

You are going off-tangent. We are discussing the Israeli problem.

When was the last time you visited a Chabad House?

I wouldn't be surprised if we find that I have attended more often than you.

Why would you visit a Chabad house?
I've said many times I'm not fan of Chabad. Their focus is on Orthodox/Hasidic Jews. I assume in Thailand things are in Hebrew which I don't speak. Also I'm an atheist. Why would I go to a Chabad house? I wouldn't. EVER. I've been to more Mormon temples than Chabad houses. Is that a problem? Still, I support freedom of religion regardless.

Not fun at all, I would much prefer to go to Pai and enjoy it in peace, without having to worry about IDF psychos roaming the landscape.

I say: Ban IDF, entirely.

Also, ban any individual who has served in the military, in Israel, during the past 40 years.

That's not fair. Military service is mandatory in Israel. Not everyone who serves is active soldier of course. Without the IDF Israel wouldn't have been able to exist. Sounds as if you would have liked that. Too bad for you.

Israel is not a failed state.

The actions of some small number of any nationality should not fairly be used to paint all people from any country.

Treat people as people.

As they used to say here Bad Guys Out.

Agreed, if people did that to British people, no British person would ever be allowed in Thailand due to the eedjits

I do not want to be unfair.

I would welcome all conscientious objectors (CO), and provide them a USD1000 COUPON redeemable at any Thailand 5-STAR Hotel.

Who would pay?

Let's somehow make Trump pay.

Funny enough there are dozens of Chabad houses in Russia. Putin has been very indulgent with your Israeli mystico-nationalists.

How would you know?

I just put spoken word question into Goggle A.I search , asking :

What is the difference between a Synagogue and a Chabad house :

And the answer was :

A synagogue is a religious building where Jewish people pray and study, while a kebab house is a restaurant that sells prepared food.

Key Differences

  • Function: A synagogue is for religion and community; a kebab house is for eating and buying meals.

  • Rules: Synagogues have strict religious rules and dress codes. Kebab houses are casual eateries open to the general public for dining.
