Chiang Mai Couple Claims Free Beauty Treatment Ended With 85,800-Baht Bill

A Thai couple has accused a beauty clinic inside a Chiang Mai shopping mall of charging 85,800 baht to their credit card without permission after inviting them to receive what was described as a free treatment. The husband said clinic staff asked for his credit card despite the complimentary offer and allegedly failed to properly explain why they needed it before he eventually handed it over. Once the treatments were completed, the couple received a voucher and receipt showing charges for services including a scrub, mask and lifting treatment. The man also reported experiencing numbness and blurred vision after a substance was applied to his face, as well as shoulder pain following the use of an electrical device, while his family said the stress subsequently affected his sleep. The couple’s daughter says several other people have contacted her with similar accounts and she is collecting evidence for a formal complaint, while neither the clinic nor the shopping mall has publicly responded.
