Well it's started already.We've still got a month to go before the vegetarian festival and already the fireworks are in full flow. Then there's 9 days plus another month or so till the shops have sold out.... deep joy!

Am i the only one that gets wound up by this?

They drive me insane! As for my poor dogs, they are terrified. If I could get out of Phuket for 3 months I would. It goes on late into the night too, surely there's some laws against this! Other than the annoyance, there's the safety aspect; the ones I have seen have been way too young to play with fireworks! Don't their parents care?

We were just in India on a mad tuk tuk race.. First thing we bought was armloads of illegal indian fireworks..

Parts of Karon are made unbearable at certain times of the year. Trust me, try sleeping soundly with them going off at all hours, and you will soon actually hate them.

As you say, there is a time & place, I can understand why a tuktuk race would be appropriate. You can sent them off to cover up the screams when some guy loses an arm or leg.

BTW having illegal indian fireworks by the armloads, might just render you armless. QC standards are not the greatest with those explosives. And do try to avoid being downwind of them when they go off, the chemical residue and smoke particulate may give you a a different type of cellular bag. Sorry, but it's the pathologist in me pondering this.
