What sort of wireless?

Do you mean Wi-Fi?

Then Yes - but in very few locations, and from various ISPs. i.e. Hotel lobbies, some Starbucks, some office blocks etc. (i.e. True, Internet Thailand, and others have Wi-fi in some locations...)

Do you mean GPRS

Yes - covering most of Thailand, not just Bangkok. - Try DTAC or AIS.

Do you mean EDGE (faster than GPRS, but still GSM based)

Yes - central Bangkok only though. (AIS - I think - but I can't find anything about it).

Do you mean CDMA 2000 (quite a bit faster than GPRS or dial-up, but also based on mobile phone technology, so not restricted to "Hotspots") - again, yes. Hutch is the firm pushing it, and from their website they cover Bangkok and most of the eastern seaboard, but not much of the rest of Thailand.

I found a great reference for free wireless coffee shops in Bangkok and Pattaya. If you go to travelmonks.com and on the left side click on the free wifi links it takes you to a search engine result page of lots of cafes. It has a lot of good information about the places, and a map that shows where they are and how far they are away from each other. It was a great reference while i was working remote.. Hope it helps
