stranger Posted June 24, 2003 Share Posted June 24, 2003 Tourists who turn up in Nong Khai only to find the hotels fully booked may instead find shelter at Ban Chom-Chaeng village, the site of a home-stay project set up two years ago to keep residents away from the drugs trade. Ban Chom-Chaeng village is home to a close-knit community, living in an idyllic area on the banks of the Mekong river, across from Vientiane, 16km from downtown Nong Khai.
