Next year the sakyadhita conference will take place in Ulaan-Bataar, Mongolia and, as usual, papers and contributions are welcome. What is always in short supply are people who are able to translate Thai/Lao - English, so that nuns and Buddhis women from rural areas can also participate. Here the call for papers:

10th Sakyadhita International Conference on Buddhist WomenUlaan Bataar, Mongolia Conference: July 1 to 5, 2008Temple Tours: July 6 and 7, 2008 "Buddhism in Transition: Tradition, Changes, and Challenges" Sakyadhita International Association of Buddhist Women is pleased to announce the 10th Sakyadhita International Conference on Buddhist Women, to be held in Ulaan Bataar, Mongolia, from July 1 to 5, 2008. The conference will be followed by a city tour (July 6) and a picnic at Manjusri Monastery (July 7). Optional tours to Erdene Zuu Monastery and the Buryat Republic (Russian Federation) will follow.

Proposals are being accepted for papers on Buddhist women and topics of interest to Buddhist women. Proposals should be 250-500 words in length. The deadline for submissions is November 1, 2007. Proposals should include the sender's institutional affiliation and contact information.
