March 18, 200818 yr The first time I saw this 'Finished Files' thing (in a pub somewhere a few years ago), I couldn't understand the issue. Come to think of it, I still don't. When someone hands you the bit of paper, they say 'Count the Fs'. You count them s-l-o-w-l-y because you think there must be a trick involved. There isn't. Amazing. A carefully crafted post avoiding the issue. How many did you get Ping ??

March 18, 200818 yr Glad that tickled your flagpole Ping. Something that would appeal to a fellow Aussie.
March 18, 200818 yr Don't want to be a bore regarding the 'Fs' thing, but it has nothing to do with intelligence. It has to do with attention to detail and proof reading skills. Ah, I have just brought this thread down! Edited March 18, 200818 yr by suegha
March 18, 200818 yr Not at all - my sentiments exactly. But didn't you get a bit of a laugh over Australia's overnight foray into the Southern hemisphere? Perhaps the UK would like to move down and take its place - far better weather! (You'll all have to make a coordinated effort to do something faintly criminal, like stealing a loaf of bread. That should do the trick.)

March 18, 200818 yr I was particularly amused by the fact that the mainland sneaked off, leaving poor wee Tasmania behind, none the wiser. New Zealand then generously offered to adopt the orphaned State. The writer of the piece is clearly a talented and imaginative soul. Hopefully his or her talents are being put to better use elsewhere!
March 19, 200818 yr Read this sentence:Finished files are the result of years of scientific study combined with the experience of years. Now count aloud the F's in that sentence. Count them ONLY ONCE; do not go back and count them again. How many 'f's did you count There are six F's in the sentence. One of average intelligence finds three of them. if you spotted four, you're above average. if you got five, you can turn your nose at most anybody. if you found all six, you are a genius. There is no catch. Many people forget the "OF"s. The human brain tends to see them as "Vs" instead of "F's". Darn. I'm above average, I got four. I missed the "of" twice. But I played by your rules and only counted through once.
March 19, 200818 yr With all that sweaty activity you've been going through, I'm surprised you can still read at all !!!!!
March 19, 200818 yr Anolther goody, Momo. Given that I am a man of leisure (retired), I typed 'None' in the red square. Added to the mirth!

March 19, 200818 yr Well it was my recollection that you could set your control panel to 'surf' the forum anonymously, but I just had a look and can't find it/remember how. Seems that my recollection was wrong.

March 19, 200818 yr Ah, thanks Thad; awarded an elephant stamp (green ink!). I very, very rarely log off (haven't in months), so that's why I couldn't find it.

March 19, 200818 yr Why - was the completed image not all that wholesome? Seriously though (ahem) some of those jigsaws can be monsters - beyond the capability of young children. She wasn't struggling with a dozen piece set, was she?
March 19, 200818 yr I found my 16 year old daughter doing a Jigsaw...........worried. A Jigsaw as in a Jigsaw Puzzle or a Jig Saw as in a Jigsaw Woodcutter? Jigsaw puzzles are f-u-n,I did an Escher one,50 000 pieces and had it framed behind perspex. The latter would be something to be concerned about.
