Digital Camera Prices - Thailand Vs Australia

Featured Replies

Our trusty Canon Ixus 400 has started to give me some serious problems and I am lookig to replace it.

I saved about 6000 Baht when I bought it in Malaysia over the Aussie price...

I note that a lot of posts say that the prices are cheaper in the US than Thailand, and was wondering what the case was WRT Australia...

I am on a flying visit to Th in Nov, I will only overnight in BKK on the way to Chiang Mai, so probably won't get time to hit Pantip Plaza...

Where is the best place to buy in CM... Do I need to haggle hard, or will they offer a fair price??? How much should I be looking to redice the original offer???

Cheers,

Daewoo

I cant compare with Oz, so am really not answering your question, but i buy all my camera equipment in Singapore as its a hel_l of a lot cheaper than here in Thailand.

Thanks Moonfruit... My brother is returning from work in Japan just after my flying visit to Thailand, so I could wait for him to bring it back if it is heaps cheaper than Thailand...

Unfortunately I can't find much in the way of pricing on the online sites from Thailand to compare prices with Australia... I am only after a point and shoot, maybe the Canon Ixus 950 IS/Powershot 850 IS, so not a big money item to start with...

Cheers,

Daewoo

Some indicative prices from Fotofile in MBK:

www.fotofile.net

The 950 is 17,900

I just bought a camera in Sing, saved 6/7k than buying it in Los...taxes are killing it here, no longer the bargain shopping destination it once was.
