Thai Tourist Visa In Manila

Featured Replies

I just came back from Manila. got my tourist visa. I used to work in Thailand. My visa and work permit got terminated since July. After that I flew to Penang and got myself a tourist visa. This time, I flew to Manila and got myself a shinning new tourist visa.

The Filipino man in the counter in the Thai embassy in Manila is a complete ######. Shouted at me for no reason. I maintained my cool cause Im asking them a favor. I didn't have a return ticket which they said is mandatory for applying a tourist visa. But I attached a copy of my contract for my apartment in bangkok. My rent will expire December 2007. And with the application, I wrote a letter to the consul explaining that I need to stay in Thailand because I need to finish my contract for my apartment.

After 2 days, I got the tourist visa. I was planning to make a written complaint to the Thai embassy because of their employee (the filipino ######) was completely rude during the application. but when i came to the embassy to take my passport and visa, he was calm (weird). so, i just left and decided not to complain that dwarf.

advice: if you got a remaining 2 or 3 months on your apartment contract and willing to wait for 2 days for a visa and want to visit the philippines, it's not worth the risk.

Very surprising indeed. The fact that you have a rental contract would indicate that you are NOT a tourist. Why would they care if you needed to complete a rental contract?

Sounds like the same guy that was tehre when I went to apply in 2000 unless they just have a policy of only employing rude, ignorant Fillipinos who tell you complete lies about the visa rules.

You might want to drop a line to the head of Immigration at Suan Plu about the treatment you received.

Totally out of line!!

Wouldn't consular staff fall under the umbrella of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs rather than immigrations?
