How Much Money Would You Need Not To Live In Thailand?

Featured Replies

I don't think Thailand is perfect. I would rather live in HK, Singapore, or South Korea... but not enough to pay 5 times as much for everything as I pay in Thailand. That is what it always comes down to. My life style in Thailand runs about 100k baht a month. When I start a family, I imagine it will double. But even if I made five times as much as I do now, I would still rather save that money than spend it getting the same thing in Seoul, only a little bit better. For me, I believe the number would be around $4,000,000 before I would consider living in these places over Bangkok.

Are you for real or did that "silver spoon" get stuck in your mouth? What do you eat for breakfast? Russian Caviar?

If that's the case, you won't live long enough to worry about a family :o .

OK, then just assume that some people have more $ than you.

Any fool can live on 100 thousand and still be miserable, the people to respect are those that live on 15k and are content and happy

Dollars or not...you will suffer one way or the other. Your poison is your choice (as is our own).

In the meantime, your original post was about you bitching about the cost of living in Thailand. I'm befuddled how a person of your (purported) wealth is therefore bitching about such a thing? The more you say, the sillier you appear to be.

I really pity you.

You are doomed to meet a tragic end at the hands of a Thai taxi driver on the corner of Suhkumvit and Soi Nana, a bundle of notes in your clenched fist, screaming "do you know who I am"

Or you could just be an adolescent having a bit of internet forum fun.

Either way, I pity you, you have a large amount of growing up to do.

£364 a week to live in Thailand?

Me-thinks there is one born every minute :o

You sound like a right tosser. 100,000 baht a month is like what you would expect to pay in Oz not Thailand. I was going to keep replying to your post but really, I think it would be a waste of breath.................... :o

Can we stop the personal insults please. Civility costs nothing, flaming gets holidays.

Come on Endure! He is virtually begging to be flamed! Actually, I think he might enjoy it (strangely :o ). Ok, in this light, let's not fuel the fire.

Anyway, I think the "flames" so far have been quite tame compared to other threads :D .

I got ya beat, I used to spend over 200k per month! heh... but that was on my business.... I didnt actually get to spend that kind of money on me... so sad.

I love these posts, they are so informative and constructive and great to pass the time reading. Especially if i don't need to take a sh*t. Like right now.

Ok. At the risk of having an "unscheduled" holiday, I make one last reply;

With regard to,

Please feel free to "escape" Thailand & leave us (& Thailand) alone. You are quite simply "not required" here.

Also, it may be possible that the OP is trying to impress others with his/her level of income. Should this be the case, his/her own ego will be his/her own downfall.

People are so unpredictable (a good thing).

I've got nothing against the "well to do". But it confuses me that someone complains about not having enough money (+100 000 Baht) to live "normally", when quite obviously everybody else can get along just fine on a lot less money. To me, this is nothing short of elitism. But hey, no problem! These folks, like all of us, have chosen our own poison.

This OP sounds like a troll of some sorts...but who knows? If so, have "we" taken the bait?

As you people seem unable to respond to a simple request the thread is closed.
