Any Freeware That Can Convert Mp3 To Mp4

Featured Replies

Hi Folks, I need to convert MP3 music to MP4 that can export into my children cell phone. Are there any free software out there that can help convert the say audio file?

Any information is much appreciated.

The only problem I see is that .mp4 is usually associated with video/audio standard and the program above seems to assume that rather then audio only,so not sure how it will behave on the cell phone. .m4a is usually mp4 audio only. What phone make/model is it and perhaps a clearer answer can be given.

This cell phone was given as a present from a japanese friend to my child. The model are softbank 707SC produced by Samsung and the manual was not clear enough for me to understand. I have google this model with not much result about audio convertion. Therefore your help are very much appreciated.

Are you on a Mac or Windoze?

I use ffmpegX for all kinds of conversions:

http://www.videohelp.com/tools/ffmpegX

Each time you'll start the application you'll have to manually "re-connect" two files. Peanuts though.

The best out there (for free) I know.

Are there a better audio/video mp3 to mp4converter freeware that can make my child happy. I'm using window xp with sp2.

Looking around a bit, it seems that if you have the software that should have come with the phone it will automatically convert the mp3 to the appropriate format for the phone when you copy the file to it.

Another site indicates that Apple's iTunes can also do the conversion. http://www.apple.com/itunes/overview/

Another forum says it only plays mmf, mp4, and 3gp.. The program Super will convert from mp3 to 3gp so you might try that.

Quote from another forum.

"iTunes can do it. Go to Edit -> Preferences, then Advanced, then Importing, select AAC Encoder, and set other settings as you please. (Yes, AAC = MP4) You can now right click any song in your playlist and choose "Convert to AAC". As well as that, this will become the default format when importing from CD.

If you don't have iTunes, you can get it free off the Apple website."

What I meant is if you use the software to copy the file you should see a message box indicating something like "Converting file" as it's copying, not a standalone program.

The link to Super I showed above does it. That's how I was able to convert a full length feature film to play on my k790i mobile phone (.3gp). :o

Being slightly technologically illiterate and even main stream stoopid...could you show me exactly which one does all that, I had a browse and searched but did not specifically see anything that converts many common files such as wmv, wma, winamp etc to 3gp.

This is a snapshot of Super and shows both convert from and to items that are available. BTW, WinAmp is not a video/audio type - just a player for several formats.
