I Need A New Cook?

Featured Replies

Hi does anybody know where i can find qualified people for my small restaraunt. I pay salarys comparable to 5 star resorts ,but i find it really difficult to find good staff? Its always involves calling 20 different friends of friends that might know somebody suitable.

Is there a school or employment agency that i can speak to directly. Or even a suitable thai classifieds place where i can advertise the position.

The people in the industry locally are understandably cagey and are simpathetic, but not helpfull.

Any infomation or advice would be very much appreciated. Cheers

Two sources to try

www.thaihoteljob.com

Rajaphat (Rajabhat) Suan Dusit University in Bangkok - they have one of the major culinary schools in Thailand - might pick up a new graduate

I must admit, I misread the topic title at first.... :o

no., I don't know any cook....

I think the people who publish the Pattaya People newspaper have a service where they will prepare an ad poster (bilingual I would imagine) like thing for businesses looking to hire Thai staff and then post it around town at the places where Thais looking for work congregate. I am not sure but the service might also include screening calls of applicants too. Just stop by their office in soi Day-Night.

Might also want to get in touch with some of the Catholic charities in town...they run lots of vocational training schemes and maybe they have or could put you in touch with chef candidates.

Good luck...
