Apologies if this has been asked before.

When arriving at BKK airport with a UK pp for a 30 day visa exempt (VE) stamp that has already accumulated more than 60 VE days from multiple previous visits but less than 90 in any 180 days, do they just stamp in the remaining allowance to complete up to 90 days or give one final 30 day VE entry?

If the days are cut to allow just a maximum of 90 VE days at time of entry do they allow for any VE days accumulated at the beginning that may expire beyond the 180 during the upcoming 30 days? e.g I have 10 VE days in early June than expire the 180 days period in early Dec, so if I arrive late November will the June days be discarded?

You don't seem to be getting many responses - I suspect, because like me, we don't know what the officer will do and highly advise obtaining a tourist visa in such a situation. It is a headache for everyone when you are on the edge.

Ah, I was thinking myself it depends on the officers mood. Will see what happens and report back. Not big deal for me if they cut me short as I need to go work elsewhere within the 30 days.... so not really in need of a tourist visa if I can help it.

We discussed this at length last year after the new rules were first introduced. We proposed various theories on how they may conduct the count.

To do an accurate count which allows ONLY 90 days in ANY 180 day period (including the new days given by stamp) cannot be done manually and would require a calculator similar to the one used for Schengen visa calculations.

We gave up on these theories when we discovered that Immigration started making decisions that had no base in logic. The '6-month block' theory was then postulated after some weird stamping was being reported around March this year.

Lopburi3's advice is best. If you haven't got at least a clear 30 day allowance up your sleeve, then get a tourist visa.
