Return Ticket From Australia Back To Thailand

Featured Replies

Is it a requirement for a thai tourist travelling to Australia on a Tourist Visa to show their return ticket at checkin from Bkk. ?

My girlfriend has a one way ticket at present from bkk to melb and would like to purchase the return in australia when ready to come back when we are sure of the return date.

goes she have the visa yet??? I always thought that aus embassy asks for the return ticket when issuing the visa.

Yes she has the visa we did not have to show air tickets .

Why would they want you to show tickets before when you dont know if you can get a visa?

She will need to show a return ticket to enter Oz on a tourist visa.

thanks for the reply do you know where that information can be confirmed because i have just checked the immigration website and the only requiremnts that they say are a valid visa and completed incomming passanger card.

Purchase a 90 day or 1 year return economy ticket in Bangkok and you nominate a return date which you can change subject to seating availability when you are in Australia, contact the airline directly when changing dates.

Obtain visa first then book tickets, immigration require you to have a return ticket. You will need a 1 year ticket if straying more than 90 days in Australia.

From experience you would be VERY UNWISE to try and get her in on a one way ticket. Whilst the website may say one thing, Oz immigration are a tough bunch and they do not like Thai ladies coming in on one ways. In any case it is cheaper to buy a return from BKK than to buy 2 one ways tickets so i dont see why you need to worry.

I have just received this information from immigration it states a return ticket is not required it is intersting to see how many opinions stated a ticket was required and she would have problems.

Thank you for your email sent in relation to your Electronic Tourist Visa (subclass 676) application lodged via the Department of Immigration and Citizenship's website.

Please note that with an electronic visa you are able to travel to Australia using the same passport that you include on your application form. Your visa gives you the right to enter Australia and stay for the period of the visa validity as specified in your visa grant notification. Other than the visa holder's passport no further documentation is required to travel to Australia.

Your visa information will appear on the passenger system you are travelling with at time of check-in and while in transit. However, you may wish to print a copy of the visa grant notification sent to your nominated email or postal address, to carry with you when you travel to Australia.

A return air ticket is not required with your visa application.

Thank you for using the eVisa service, and we hope you enjoy your visit to Australia.

Kind regards,

Peter Middleton

Thai passport holders are not eligible for an ETA to Australia at present for a tourist visa.

Immigration in Australia may ask you for it as they have information on their computers on all visas that are issued, also the airline may not let you board if you do not have a return or onward ticket.

Get a return ticket in Bangkok.

I am waiting for another email from them to confirm this and when i get it i will post there answer

Just another note the incoming passenger card is a legal document once signed so be very carefull how you fill it in, if you are not sure declare it, they are available in the Thai language at Australian airports just before immigration counters, if you are not sure ask one of the customs staff there. The forms issued on the aicraft are in English.
