HI!!! Are there any laws concerning how many times a year it is possible to enter Thailand. I have short vacations 4-5 times a year which I like spending in Malaysia and Thailand. There are no direct flights from my city to Bangkok so I arrive in Bangkok, get 15 days visa on arrival and fly to KL.Normally I stay in Malaysia for 5-7days and then fly to Phuket where again I get visa on arrival. I stay in Phuket 5-7 days and fly back to Kazakhstan. This year I had a trip like that 4 times. Last time in September I was asked a lot of questions in Phuket airport about the purpose of my visit. I already booked a trip to Thailand for this December. I am coming to celebrate New Year with my family. I will stay in Thailand for 14 days.I am worried that I may have some troubles getting visa on arrival as it is my 5th trip this year.

Thank you in advance,

Tatyana.

Apply for a Tourist or Transit Visa in your nearest Thai consulate or embassy, then it should not be a problem.

I don't believe they have an embassy in Kazakhstan.

As lopburi3 says, there is probably not limit on the number of visas on arrival, but it is just up to the person issueing the visa to give it to you. Just like the Penang consulate is starting to refuse people tourist visas, there is no rule on the number of tourist visas you can get, but if they feel that you are taking advantage of the system, they will refuse to give you the visa.

Thank you for reply! You are right, there is no Thai embassy in Kazakhstan. 15 days visa on arrival which I get at the airport is ehough for me as I don't stay longer. My only purpose of coming to Thailand is to enjoy good food, swimming and sunbathing. Is there anything I can do to prove that I am not 'taking advantage of the system?' but just like the country :D . And what happends if they refuse to give me visa on arrival :o my return flight is from Bangkok?

I think that probably since you are not getting the visas back to back and returning to your home country between trips, this is really all you can do. Really you are only spending about 20 days there every 3-4 months. I don't think they would have a problem with this, after all, you would not even be having any problems if they allowed your country to have the 30 day visa exempt entries. If they start to stop people from staying 90 days in a 6 month period using visa exempt entries, then I would think that you might have a problem. But as long as they are willing to let people stay 90 days in 6 months, I can't see why they would have a problem with you spending less time during a 12 month period.
