December 3, 200718 yr The Laughing Leprechan is one of my favorite eating places, so I am not pleased, but I know that Dominic has been hoping to sell it for a long time. Best of luck to him in the future!
December 3, 200718 yr The Laughing Leprechan is one of my favorite eating places, so I am not pleased, but I know that Dominic has been hoping to sell it for a long time.Best of luck to him in the future! I am left gasping -- it is rare for me to agree so fully with another person as I do with you on this . . .
December 3, 200718 yr That is a tragedy for me, and probably many othr farang. I wish Dominic – a real gentleman - all the best for the future. You know we are slowly running out of choices of civilized, relaxing places to unwind with good food and without being harassed by ear splitting music and the ladies of the night. I suppose its an unrealistic expectation but very sad. Pantip
December 3, 200718 yr Come on.. There's loads of sedate little pub/restaurants all over the place.. Nimmanhaemin Road even, The Pub on Huay Kaew, etc.. Or, have some children. I have a two year old at home and I can assure you that no bar or lady of the night so far has matched that level of noise & harassment. Loi Kroh to me translates as a place of tranquil bliss.
December 4, 200718 yr Author She did say, "with good food", and I think that the quality at Dominic's was well above the norm for Irish/British fare. I will miss the place for his amazing "Big Breakfast" if nothing else.
December 4, 200718 yr Mayflower on Loi Kroh has really quite decent (and affordable) food these days, and they deliver across the street.
December 4, 200718 yr Will it remain the Laughing Leprechan? one of the only places you could get a decent pint of guiness in Chiang Mai
December 4, 200718 yr Author Dominic is guessing that it will close in a week or two and that the new owner will serve a different type of food.
December 4, 200718 yr hope its an indian who would change it into "The Laughing Rajput" and serve a whopping idli/dosai for breakfast to match that of dominics and have kingfisher beer on tap.
December 4, 200718 yr Where on Loi Kroh is Mayflower? Oh dear now I need to remember bar names which I'm terrible at.. But it's next to a bar with a sign saying "STH".. (Stairway to Heaven perhaps?) Give it a try. (or take-out.)
