Hi All,

I am moving out next week to take up a teaching post in Pattaya.

I was thinking of bringing my Nintendo Wii with me. This is a UK console and uses PAL I believe.

Will the console work with the TV's over there, or will I need to buy something to convert the picture/sound. It connects to the TV using the standard 3 pin yellow red white audio/video plugs.

Thanks

Peter

You will most likely get the right video signal but the audio signal may not be heard as although the tv system in thailand is Pal, the audio is a slightly different set up. google world tv standards for more information. probably worth bringing the wii and trying it out. if not satisfactory then take it to the basement of the Tukcom centre on south pattaya road who may be able to fix the problem.

Hi

We've just moved here (Chiang Mai) with our UK wii. I'd be interested to know how you got on with yours. Did the sound work in the end? Did you have any problems at all and how did you solve them? Also, do I really need a surge protector or is that a myth?

Thanks
