Begs, very good point, but inevitable being so near the belly of the beast, the Big P.

Excuse my ignorance (only lived in Pattaya 2 years) but is City Hall, Pattaya the admin centre for Bang Saray Or is there some other admin control?
Nope, Bang Saray has it own City Hall and Administration Office. It was recently built during the past 4 years. I've forgotten where it exactly is (off one of the Soi's near Sukhumvitt), but it's easy to find. It's in an open area, large, and has a bright blue roof. Just ask. If I seem to recall, Bang Saray is part Amphur Sattihip. Pattaya is part of Amphur Banglamung. No connection. The only connection is both are part of Changwat Chonburi.

Jeez, this rumor has been going on for about 10 years. I think it's being promoted by Real Estate Agents and Developers. just to draw suckers to/from Pattaya. These stories are easily bought and paid for in the local rags. Just like the tallest condo in Jomtien, the world's largest hotel in Ban Amphur/Na Jomtien, and the large Casinos coming to Koh Larn, Pattaya, and Jomtien. Oh yeah, let us not forget the Monorail being built in Jomtien/Pattaya, or the BTS extension from Oh Nut station in Bangkok to Pattaya. Believe it when you see it folks! The locals know nothing of it.

I remember of the rumor, a few years ago, of the new big Lotus store coming to Ban Amphur. What I'm now seeing built, is something a little smaller than a 7/11!

They should put big signs on some of those big billboards along Sukhumvitt. Home of the biggest scams! Beware of Developer claims! No truth in Advertising!

Although we do have a "Ripley's Believe It or Not".

I was on Bang Sare beach a few weeks ago. A developer has set up a new glass sales office over looking the beach. No one was in attendance and someone has thrown a very large brick/boulder and smashed the glass front. Further back from the beach is an abandonded concrete project slowly being covered in dense green jungle. Two scabby stray dogs were sleeping under a Tamarind tree nearby. One female Fallang was taking the sun on the beach. The fishing vilage was the usual Thai bustle of life going on as normal....

It hardly gave the impression of Las Vegas ?

If I was a crazy investor or a fool easily parted with my money I think my brain would have to be replaced with an overripe October cabbage before even thinking about getting involved in these doomed projects.

But ...some one has to take the bull by the horns and get things off the ground I suppose...or places like PATTAYA / LAS VEGAS / SUN CITY etc would not exist....
